03/22 Milo AMPS 350 after >500 last night

Ok, so I have no idea that my relion would even come back with a reading of just HI, until last night. Who would have thought a 350 would look so good, but after that reading, if does! I increased Milo to 1.75 this morning in hopes of triggering some downward movement. Milo is acting normal, he drank a little water last night after his dinner, but nothing excessive. I was wondering how long you can store lantus pens in the fridge..? I've had these pens since the last time he was on insulin, so over a year. Is that too long? None of the pens had been opened and they were stored the entire time in the fridge. If that is not the problem, then a good teeth cleaning is in order. However, I don't think insurance will pay until May.
 
I believe unopened pens can stay in the fridge for as long as the expiration date hasn't passed, but I'll need someone more experienced to confirm that.

I hope thinks get better for Milo. Those readings must have been so scary. Good luck to both of you.
 
Yeah, we are with you on that one...350 is looking pretty good.

Since your pen were not opened & in the frig, then the expiration date on box & Pen should guide you. Once I use a pen, I get about a month out of it but then I am using lots of insulin at our dose of 7u.

Good morning guys .. ouch on that HI reading last night ... poor milo .. I'm glad he is back down to 350 and hope that he continues to come down all day for you with the extra juice ... have a great day guys!
