Good morning, everyone! Happy Caturday Super Moon!! fll_moon

More yellows for Chaos. He got as low as 113 yesterday but so far, no more greens since Wednesday's amazing dive. I was a little wary of last night's PMPS 146, shot maybe a drop less than usual. Stupid nerves. Chaos is just fine, as always. He had a great time yesterday going in and out of the house at will, and we spent some time on the porch together. He is absolutely gorgeous with the sunlight on his face. We were intruded upon by a honeybee who was really interested in the powdered sugar smeared on my apron, so I spent a long time standing very still until he finished his business and flew off. I didn't want him to kill himself stinging me! We used to have a hive in the wall of our shed before the colony collapse thing happened. One day, they were just gone. DH and I were so sad. So I don't kill honeybees or excite them into killing themselves if I can help it. Anyway, we really enjoyed the t-shirt weather yesterday.

Chaos's numbers don't make a lot of sense to me, but do they ever? One huge drop, and then nothing. He could still be in bounce mode, but it seems like he is always in bounce mode. The sugar dance has me a little frustrated right now. Chaos doesn't care one way or the other. He is more concerned about getting a good seat on the bus tonight with all his favorite friends. The Super Moon party is all he has talked about for days! He is napping right now, saving up his energy so he can help shovel the path to the barn.

Love the cake!!!

I'm glad you didn't kill the bee. I'm really scared of them for some reason. I would have torn through the house trying to run away. I can stay still for like three seconds but then something in me just panics. That is so sad about the colony collapsing. I've read about it on the news many times.

Can't help at all with Chaos. I know you are not alone and will get some feedback.

Hi guys .. I know it's frustrating when we can't make sense of our kitties numbers .. just know you are in the right place to vent that frustration .. we have all been there ... that is a great looking cake!

I'm glad you didn't let the honeybee kill herself. So many humans don't understand, that if you be still, the honeybee has way less reason to defend herself, and thus is way less likely to sting, than when flaying and batting arms and hands and screaming at it..

Well, it looks like Chaos has taken Binks's fashion advice and decided to wear blue today. Maybe he'll slip into something green for the PM cycle, or I could be dreaming... all I can do is hope.

As for my reaction to the honeybee, when I was a very small child, my father began teaching me about all the little creatures we encountered in our yard, in the park, wherever. I was taught not to fear so many things that are typically thought of as "icky". Bugs, snakes, lizards, etc... they were explained to me- what they do, how they help us, why they won't hurt us, and so forth. Bees and snakes were always particular favorites of mine. Remaining still and just observing is my first instinct, thanks to dear ol' dad. :mrgreen:

If I go by the numbers, Chaos has given me permission to head out to the mall and get my wedding ring back, now that the repairs are done. Whooohoo.... the mall. I don't know if I want to go look at swimsuits or run screaming.

The whole honeybee colony collapse business is really scary, esp. given what it could mean for our food supply. It is amazing how dependent we are on those little guys!

Unfortunately, I'm allergic to them. Last time I got stung, a bee got under the tongue of my running shoes. I was a good 5 miles from home, in a park down a long lane with no traffic. As I tried to walk to the main road, my foot just kept swelling... in about 5 minutes, it was swollen out of my shoe. Thankfully, a police officer came by and gave me a ride.

Childhood story, as a kid we used to go to a farm in NJ as a vacation--I was on a swing & the chain of the swing hit a honeybee, which totally Stung me, as if I did it!! OUCH!! I never kill bees but do show them a mirror when we are at a show, they fly away for some reason?--They dont like to see themselves?? :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thanks for the compliments on my cake, everyone! I enjoy doing it so much. Any of you going to the gathering in Pittsburgh this summer will get to see and eat all you want- I intend to come well armed with pretty tasties. :mrgreen:

Chaos is kicking off his moon party for sure. 409 for PMPS...whooo! Stupid fll_moon . He was having such a nice blue day, too. :sad: Alas, if the moon pulls him up, there is not much I can do except continue to feed him well and shoot thru it. He's acting just fine.... he did have a bit of a sad moment earlier today, though. I had just given him some food and put it back in the fridge.. the fridge door closing knocked a wine glass off the top, and *smash* big fat mess. Glass all over. With Chaos eating right in the corner! I had to evacuate kitties in mid-scarf and they were not happy. Thorough cleaning of kitchen floor and surfaces ensued. Kitties not happy about fud bowls not in their usual place, Chaos gets bummed, gives me Sad Face. Awwwww. But at least the kitchen is really, really clean. All kitty paws have been inspected and no one stepped in the glass. :mrgreen:

Ever since colony collapse, we have seen the weirdest honeybees around here. Strange colors, like blonde ones, all-orange ones, etc. They're shaped and sized and everything exactly like honeybees, they just have odd colors. I don't know what it means but I wish some would settle back in the shed wall. It was cool having them there.

Your cake is gorgeous! I'd love to be creative like that - you do really nice things.

Interesting things on the bees... we have a small hive in the wall once - ran thought the 2X4's - huge thing, an they never bothered us. Hive stayed there until we remodeled and removed the wall. it was darn cool to look at.

I have received a text from the chef - seems all kitties are having a great time - eating way too much, dancing and singing...they were getting ready to head on over to camp stu for the remembrance. sounds like a grand time. what a life!
