We started the old syringes last night. The ones with the zero line not right smack up at the top of the syringe.
I have 4 ten packs of these. I will be picking up another 100 this weekend, and hope they are the same as these.

Last evening J.D. was trotting and walking fine on our walks. When I tested the +2 last night, he did act like the poke really hurt and his left hind leg did that shaking thing again...A couple days ago, I was throwing treats out on the porch and watching the cats chase them and I noticed J.D.'s back leg go up and out and shake for a few seconds, a couple of times... He was up on my desk last night, and I remember telling him to be careful getting down (because he hurt his front leg before by jumping down from the desk wrong). Anyway, this morning he is limping, and I have to go to work (no getting out of it), so he is coming with me. Should I take some Bupe? I have the Bupe he got when he hurt his front leg on 08/09/09. Is it still good? I keep it in a paper bag in a drawer. I've always wondered how long it would be good for.

J.D. ate his breffis and is sitting in his bed. I can not get him to a regular vet until Monday. I hope his leg feels better, today. I'll make an appointment for Monday, today.

sending healing vines for J.D. today hope his legs gets better soon I am no help on how long the meds last I keep meds here for a long time too with our clinic expiration dates are not put on when dispensed so you end up with them very long term

Good #s for JD today... so sorry his leg is bugging him! No answer on the bupe... maybe try on of the drug websites?

I so wish I could take Willie to the office! Hope you guys have a.good, productive day!

Nice AMPS for J.D. Hope his leg starts feeling better soon. I have no clue on the bupe expiration.

bupe is probably still good. the only thing if past expiry, may not be as potent. I have used expired meds. worst that can happen is, they will not work if too, too old.
ps. make sure there is not a torn nail or something stuck between toes or something. that happened here and that is all it was.. some clumping litter cause goofy put foot in the litter he used when covering

Good morning guys .. nice blue start to the day for J.D. .. sorry to hear his leg is bothering him .. no advice on the meds .. I hope he starts feeling better soon .. have a great day guys!

Nice AMPS for J.D. this morning. Hope he enjoys work today....glad that you are able to bring him with you.
Not sure about the bupe.....but my first thought was that if you give him pain meds, he might not pamper that leg. You don't want him jumping around too much and doing any more damage....
I had a gold retriever who fractured her hip and the vet told me that he would not give her pain meds..and she was in a LOT of pain... He said that the best medicine would be nothing...she would then not be doing any jumping around and would let the hip heal.
Sure enough, 3 weeks after lying on he kitchen floor, she was up and about.
I hope you can keep him from jumping anymore for the time being.
See what others say...but I would watch that he doesn't get too active.

Most meds are considered to be past expiration after a year. I don't know about using an opiate that's more than a year old. When in doubt, either call the vet or a pharmacy and ask.

I had to laugh -- I tell Kitty to be careful all the time, and he pays no attention to me either! But I know limping is not a laughing matter.

How old is he? Could it be arthritis? Maybe age and pounds are creeping up on those delicate joints.

Anyway, I hope it goes away on its own soon.

J.D.'s limping went away. He is 16 and weighs 14 pounds and 11 and 1/2 ounces. He's a big boy.
I tried calling the vet today, to get an appointment for Monday, but for some odd reason the vet was closed today.
J.D. is back up on my desk right now, trying to cover the screen with his body so I can't see what I'm tyoping

Nice to see JD back in the blue. I hope his leg isn't anything serious. Have you checked his pads for something caught inbetween?
