And today we wake up with a very nice blue morning. Wow, Rupert, you really are keeping me guessing!

Lively cat this morning, hungry, had his usual bits of ground beef for his ear poke (even jumped on his chair waiting for it)...just cleaning up his breakfast - Merrick Ocean Breeze, about half a can, and is now headed outside for his pee and to survey the chilly world this morning. NO snow for us, phew, but Vancouver getting a bunch this morning. Supposed to warm up to 9 (48) this afternoon so it won't be sticking around.

I'm shot the same (yes, I AM listening!) f1.1.5 this morning. Will see where he's headed before I leave for work and if he's looking scary I'll stay home to keep an eye on him!

I sure hope he stays nice and blue, dark green today and we don't bounce from this one!! (I do wonder what his BG was like at about 2 in the morning though!)

The bounce has definitely cleared.

I'd suggest an early test. This looks to be a dropping number from last night. If Rupert is still heading down, it's best you catch it so you can intervene if you need to.

thanx Barb! right there with you! yes, I'm lucky that I only work 5 minutes away and I have to come home each day at around noon to feed the horses, so Rupie gets a regular noon day poke and check. I'll test him before I'm scheduled to leave and if his numbers look nailbite_smile I'll just call work and tell them I'll be late! fingers crossed for a surfing day, and that all the other kitties on the 'upper levels' want to join in the party!

+1.5 and he's at 101... fed a bit more Merrick LC....

off to the barn to feed the horses.. will check BG again at 8:55 (so +2.5) and make decision about going to work or not then!

he's looking really good. wanted more food so seems to be learning how to eat when he needs to. Don't want to HC him just yet, hoping he rides this blue wave for a while. hoping he doesn't bounce too bad from this one!

+2.5 and he's at 95. He's eaten a little bit more, probably grand total of 5/8ths of a can of Merrick this morning so far, in dribs and drabs. He's alert, sitting on the couch looking annoyed as usual, especially cos he got poked an extra time this morning! Nice to see green again... I'm gonna go pick the hay out of my hair, put on my work clothes and 'hover' to see whether I stay home or not. I'm not too panicky, this last little BG drop was very small over the past hour so I think he's leveling out. maybe we'll get a green surf again instead of a blue today. This time I"ll be ready for the probably inevitable pinks and reds tomorrow.. sigh!

NO bouncing tomorrow. Pip, don't even mention those colors, that we do not say out loud! :-D
Rupert is done bouncing. He is going to be in beautiful numbers the rest of today and so no b*****ng tomorrow :-D

And tell Checkers I said that, okay? :lol:

Ann, that is hilarious :lol: :lol: !

Pip - Rupert has a lovely surf going! Those are gorgeous numbers, definitely no need to panic! Hopefully no "B" will follow, but even if he does do that, he'll clear it just fine!

drat, back up to the yellow.. hopefully he'll hold that till PMPS. maybe he just wants to explore ALL the colours today? or he just missed bouncing about... sigh. up over 100pts in two hours is a pretty quick rise is it not??

sigh. back up to red. and today started out so well. darn it. last night he did this, went to pink at +3 and was in the blues in the morning. will be interesting to see if this repeats or if we get a full day of reds as a bounce reaction to the little bit of green today. grrrr.

oh well, means we can go out for wings tonight with no worries! Rupie seems fine as usual. noticed he did drink a fair bit this morning, but isn't urgently wanting to go outside to pee and is eating well.

Another day, more data!! Every hour that they can be in low numbers means that healing is taking place. The bounces just indicate that Rupert needs more time in Liver Training School. Here's hoping for a quick clearing of the bounce.

Sounds like you had a good day, Pip, and Rupert may have gotten a few extra pokes, but he'll survive even that!

Tomorrow, both our boys will be in nicer numbers for longer hours :smile: Think positively. :-D

Sheesh, the Dynamic Duo! I hope he slows these bounces down soon.

What is your feeding schedule? Have you tried to use food manipulation to slow things down?

I make sure he eats a little right after his shot , and then a bit more about an hour or two later...I'd let him free eat but with the new stray Oliver (a.k.a. Hoover cat!) everything gets sucked up the minute it's left out, so it's a bit tricky. he generally gets fed at shot time, +1, +2, then a morsel at +5/6 if he wants, then again at shot time in the evening, with the +1/+2 happening if we are home. At night I leave food out for him because we shut Oliver in the spare room, and the other three cats are really good about only eating what they NEED versus gobbling everything in sight!
of course, this morning when he was so nice and low, and then dipped a little lower, I was pretty diligent about waving food under his nose!

I'm hoping that these greens will linger longer before he bounces back up.. suggesting that his body is learning not to panic quite so quickly. Hate to see the reds, but hopefuly, as you guys say, that the green time is enough to start a bit of a healing process. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

and Barb, we need to get these boys together and give them a severe talking to!

:sad: bouncy bouncy again. be interesting to see what number he gives me tomorrow morning. drat.

fingers crossed he clears it as fast as he did yesterday, but maybe slow enough that he doesn't bounce again. have a good evening everyone.
