He seems really good. He's purring, he pounced at an insect day before yesterday, he didn't poo for a few days but that's all happening again, a bit smellier than usual and a little softer but not diarreah. His mouth sits a little differently with his fangs gone from one side but there doesn't appear to be any swelling. He's still eating as if he hasn't been fed for a month.

Could it be that there is some infection and missing with half his antibiotic yesterday morning did this. He is only having once per day. Water plate was removed before giving this morning and all antibiotics were eaten.

The higher numbers are a puzzlement. I'm glad he seems to be feeling OK. Come on down Vyktor, ease mamabean's mind.

Vyktor, sweetheart, we all want to see lower numbers for you. Please let your mama know if you are not feeling well.

Hi Serryn,

It could be that Vyktor's body is still directly reacting to the stress of the dental, even though he seems fine. I'm sure he'll get back on track soon. It's a shock to the system to lose so many teeth at once! So keep on with the antibiotics, watch his numbers with the dosecrease, and try to keep to his routines so that he will feel comfortable. I'm sure that one reason for the higher bgs is Vyktor sensing that you are grieving for Rob. You and Vyktor have such a close bond, so if you sit down with him and explain to him that you must grieve for your friend, he will understand.

Thanks to Ella (as seconded by Celi), I had blubbed at him a few times but I had forgotten to sit him down and explain to him that everything was going to be okay, I don't know how I forgot because I talk to him about everything but I have explained it to him now - just before his PMPS...

Also thanks to Randa - how did you know I forget to eat at times like these! I plan to have dinner tonight.
 
So sorry Serryn to hear about the loss of your dear friend. (((((hugs to you))))))

I agree with Ella and Celi, kitties do pick up on our energy so hopefully sitting down and explaining what happened to Vyktor will clear up some stress and take care of these ugly numbers. Vyktor, please be a good boy for your bean!
 
That's what I was thinking too, Serryn. Vyktor is picking up on how you feel and he's a little worried. Give him lots of hugs and scritches from me and some head butts from Sid.

Jenn's Mikey took a couple weeks after his dental until he started pumping out those nonstop greens. Check out his SS.

Our kitties are so intuitive, I'm sure Vyktor is feeling sad for you too. :cry: Once he knows you are okay, he will be too. :YMHUG:

Zener ran high numbers for several weeks post-dental, and ate like a lumberjack (until he had motility issues). The anesthesia can be hard on these kitties, and take a couple of weeks to clear their system. WCR is good so maybe just a little more time for things to settle out. Where are those darn patience pants? I had a pair around here... They must be wherever I misplaced my crystal ball. ;-)
