For those of you haven't been following yesterday's condo, with the assistance of those that I've spoken with, I have made the decision to abandon the front loading, and try a different approach to remission (hopefully) for Miss Blackie. I gave her 1/8 tsp. of FF T&G to her PMPS +2 last night for the first time. We'll see what happens from here.

QUESTION: How far up does her nadir need to be before I can safely add any more insulin?

How much more insulin would I need to give her? Do I give her a fattened dose when the time is right?

Good luck with finding the right combo of food and timing to bring her nadirs up. It's getting complicated! But there's nothing simple about FD!

+1 - 0.70 oz. Evo 95% C&T
+2 - 0.70 oz. Evo 95% C&T + 1/8 tsp. FF T&G
+3 65 - 0.20 oz. raw turkey cutlet
+4 73

hi angela. i'm glad you posted the info above.
it's not necessary to "add" the 1/8 tsp. FF T&G to the total amount she's eating.
what you want to do is replace the amount/calories of the evo with the higher carb - low carb FF T&G.

sorry, i didn't see your questions when i responded.
let's see how things go before making any decisions. a lot will depend on finding the timing and amount of carbs.

So, I need to switch her food out to the FF T&G then?

I thought I could add the FF T&G to what she's eating, which I thought was a 0% carb diet?

yes, switch out the evo for the FF at the +2 mini-meal. let's see if that's enough to raise her nadirs.

If I give her 0.70 oz. of FF T&G I betcha she's going to skyrocket. :lol:

And here I thought you wanted me to switch all of her mini meals to the FF T&G (whew!). My poor kitty isn't going know what hit her, I tell you. :lol:

Blackie does too, Julie. :lol: Blackie likes anything. I should've named her Mikey instead. :lol: But then, there's already one "Mikey" on here. :-D

+2 - 0.50 oz. Evo 95% C&T + 0.20 oz. FF T&G

I have a feeling that she'll skyrocket if I give too much carbs, so am "testing the waters" so to speak to see what she does with this amount for tonight, and tomorrow morning's feeding, and will proceed from there.
 
good to test it out and see how blackie does with it! btw, someone told me a while ago that the ff turkey and giblets was higher than 4% in their new formula. i don't know where to direct you to that, but they either said it was 7% or 9% - sorry i don't have better info, but fwiw i thought i'd pass it on.

might've been ann/tess . . .
