WCR: All is good with Blackie. Last night, she slept in the round part of the scratching post. She didn't do that the night before, which was good as I was afraid that she would rub the stitches against the top of the door. Granted, it's carpeted, but my fear was the stitches would catch, and rip out. I was leery about her sleeping in there last night, but upon checking her incision this morning, everything looked like it was still intact, and there was no oozing. This morning, she seems like she's back to her normal Blackie self.. Meaning being a bully to the others at feeding time. She chased her son, Groucho, as he walked by her. Aurora stays on the kitchen table as she gets fed there (we don't use it anyway... we normally eat in the living room on collapsible tables), and Tiny (Daisy's (GA) sister), typically stays out of Blackie's way. Blackie ate most of her food, but walked away. I sprinkled a bit more Forti Flora on it, and she ate more, then walked away. I kept this up for a couple more times (sans the Forti Flora the last 2x), and she finally ate the rest. Then, she was given the Tramadol ointment in her ear. I LOVE this vet. :-D It's so easy treating her with that ointment. She simply thinks of it as an ear massage and will move towards my hand. Silly kitters!

Blackie's improving... Slowly, but surely. Probably be towards the end of next week before she settles down completely. Still have 1 more vet visit on Monday at 10:45 to have the stitches removed. At least this time, I'll be there with her, and won't be leaving her there.

Sending tons and tons of healing vines, and positive thoughts to those who need them.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

Looks like you have your hands full and are still helpful all the time. Hope your day is good.

Re: 02/26 Blackie AMPS 118, +1 99

+1 99 - 31g Evo 95% C&T

Thanks, guys. Just now, she ate most of her +1 meal, but I resorted to helping her by spoon feeding her the rest. She ate most of that. Talk about getting spoiled!!! Sheesh! After what she's been through, as long as she's eating, she'll get spoiled, not like she isn't already. :-D

Every kitty deserves to be spoiled (that's why I hope to come back as one in my next life  )!!!! Wonderful Blackie report...it sounds like she is really on her way to healing up. Have a great day, Angela!

Re: 02/26 Blackie AMPS 118, +1 99

Thank you. I'm hoping that the sutures will be out on Monday. I really don't want to bring her there (after a huge struggle to get her in the carrier), only to turn around, and come back another day. While I was there on Monday, I asked the vet about putting Neosporin on it to help heal it faster, and she said to wait a couple of days before doing so. Has anyone done that?

Re: 02/26 Blackie AMPS 118, +1 99

Morning Angela ~O) ~O) ~O)

What a nice start todasy for Blackie. It is so cool to read that Blackie is being Blackie, including the breffis supervision. Too funny. It is good news though, soon all will be back to 100% normal. It sounds like she is healing well. AWESOME! It is nice that she has not tried to remove her stitches, so often they do. Good job Blackie. I know you will be glad once those are removed. I have used Neopsorin in the past on minor "owies" to help them heal. It seemed to help.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Re: 02/26 Blackie AMPS 118, +1 99, +2 107

+2 107

I tried to get a sample from her ears, and I'm sure that this is the result of too many attempts (she's done this before). Her tail thwapping was a clear indication that she was NOT amused.

I think I'll wait to see how she does on Monday, and if there's any seepage, or anything that needs to be taken care of after the sutures are removed. Then, I'll ask the vet about the Neosporin. Right now, everything looks dry, and good, aside from a bit of redness (I'm guessing it's bruising) on one part of the skin.

Re: 02/26 Blackie AMPS 118, +1 99, +2 107

Hello!

I was laughing over the spoiled spoon fed kitters that we have! I have to spoon feed Ole because he eats much too quickly. All gobble and no breathing! He has a different tempo to "nom nom nom", a lot more frenzied. Hahahaha

I'm glad Blackie is feeling better each day and will soon be as right as rain!

Have a great day!

Hi Angela,
I'm very glad that Blackie is doing well, even if you do have to "encourage" her to eat. Have a fine day. More healing vines are on the way for your girl.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty
