I'm so sorry...thinking of you! I'm glad Vyktor is fine...hopefully he can be of comfort to you right now.
 
Vyktor continues to do fine and is eating well. It was most unfortunate that I had to take him back to the vet for another bupe shot as it seems the weekend staff are complete morons, it was much more stressful for Vyktor (and me) than it needed to be. I plan to give him another dose of Tramadol tonight and am wondering if that will be sufficient or if I should keep giving it a bit longer. His next dose of Tramadol is due at about +30 of his op and should last a further 6-8 hours.


I'm sorry to leave you hanging on 'terrible news' this morning, I wasn't thinking clearly. I knew I had to post or people would be worried about Vyktor but I really wasn't up for it.

Last night my friend and mentor Mr Robert Brewster was hit by a jet ski while swimming at a Port Melbourne beach.

He was put into an induced coma by the paramedics that attended and has been in hospital on life support since. There is no hope that he will recover and the life support is expected to be turned off tonight.

Rob is a man of great integrity. He is one of the most honest and loyal men I have ever known. He taught me (and others) so much both professionally and personally and is a great loss to us all, particularly to his two teenage daughters.

Rob was the friend that came to dinner last week when I made the avocado mousse. We live in different states now so we hadn’t seen each other for months. I will be forever grateful that I had the opportunity to spend that last evening with Rob. The night was full of so much laughter and this is how I will always remember him.
 
(((Serryn))) I'm so sorry to hear of this tragedy. I'm glad you had that last evening with him. I hope that memory and all the others you have will bring you comfort through this heartbreaking time.
 
(((Serryn))) I'm so glad you posted, and I'm so sorry to hear of your dear friend's accident and the prognosis. Don't give up hope, as there is always a chance. I'm so glad you were able to spend an evening with him last week, and that was no coincidence. Sending vines and prayers for your friend and you, too, Serryn.
I hope the Bupe helps Vyktor. Extra scritches to your baby.

We are very,very sorry to hear this. It is so hard to accept the probability that a dear friend may die because of a horrific accident caused by someone else's carelessness. Please convey our sorrow to the family.

I'm so very, very sorry to hear this news. It's wonderful that you just recently got to spend time with him, and the evening was full of laughter. We're thinking of you during this difficult time.
 
I'm sorry, Serryn. I read the news reports of the accident. It was so senseless and avoidable! You must feel devastated. Know that I am thinking about you, your friend, and his family.

I always think of the Whitney Houston song "One Moment In TIme" and those moments we all need to hold so close to our hearts! You had that moment with Robert recently & treasured it..Be Happy you
received the gift of that night, I look at most things that way...
Prayers for his family, and hope that maybe there will be a Miracle--Hugs to you today!
