Last night we had a very active cycle. I'll be conservative with the dose and keep it the same for a few more cycles. Ketones are still showing traces, but I'm still monitoring him closely every day. He's doing very well, eating well, and meeting his needs. For now, I'm continuing to monitor all his progress.
Do you use ketone urine strips or have a ketone meter?
Can you add some water to his food to try to reduce the ketones?
🥰

I use urine test strips, but I changed brands and these strips don't work the same. If I wait 15 seconds as the manual says, the color seems to indicate traces, but if more than 30 seconds pass, the strip turns black. I'm currently adding water to his wet food because he doesn't usually drink much. He's very affectionate, plays with his sister, and eats a lot. Maybe I should weigh him; I think he's gained weight.

With the test strips ignore the 30 second reading.

**It’s 15 seconds that matter, as the instructions indicate.

It’s always good to weigh him when you can to keep track.
Glad he’s doing well and is a happy boy 🥰😻

These urine strips are new, they're not the same as before. I thought I'd try doing them on myself to see how the color changes when I do them on him, that way I'll have a better idea of whether he has traces or not.
