I was planning on giving him his dose 15 minutes early but he is lower then I expected. Would 1.5 be too much?
I work in the morning but could set an alarm for +4-5 ish.. yeah alright might aswell give it a shot.If you can monitor I'd shoot full dose as an experiment. If you need sleep, perhaps a temporary 0.5U reduction just for tonight.
This will be the challenge with having him regulated, balancing sleep with BG
Just so I dont panic unnecessarily later , 2.8 (50) is beginning of hypo right? If you can monitor I'd shoot full dose as an experiment. If you need sleep, perhaps a temporary 0.5U reduction just for tonight.

Thank you!I'm going to tag @Bandit's Mom to keep an eye for you if she can. He has really nice gentle cycles so I don't foresee anything crazy. And given the increase in the later part of the cycle I do wonder if he's heading for a bounce...
Anyway, follow what Bhooma says. But if she isn't around and you need quick answers-
So 50 is the reduction point, but also we really don't want them "hanging out" below 50. Below 50 you would give high carb (HC) food, test every 20 minutes and keep giving HC til above 50. Below 40 you'd give high carb food and honey/karo, keep testing every 15 minutes til above 50, then continue with HC. Ideally you want him flat or rising without food for 2 hours before calling it safe.
Start with a +2. If he's above 200 I'd call it a night, likely a bounce. If hes close to flat, test again in 2 hours. If he's right around 100, feed 1-2tsp low carb and test in an hour. If he's 80-90 I'd give 2 tsp MC and test in 30 minutes. Below that, 1tsp HC and test in 20 minutes.
I am secretly hoping he does get a reduction tonight, I think he is going to need one soon.
No he didn't, he's napping. Maybe I'll go bring him to the food and see if he will snack.Did he eat the food in the autofeeder? A snack will help smoothen the curve.
He's having a snack lol. Good thing this cat is always hungry. I don't think he quite understands the auto feeder yet and that food can appear without me opening it haha.No he didn't, he's napping. Maybe I'll go bring him to the food and see if he will snack.
