? 02/14 Eddie AMPS 358 +3 218 +6 209 PMPS 405 +2 374

It's also the SDMA? I have this much (email) and will get the rest tomorrow:

"SDMA and creatinine are within the reference interval: impairment of GFR is unlikely. Recommended next step: evaluate complete urinalysis."
IDEXX SDMA result:
5 0 - 14 μg/dL 12

"Creatinine" 173" "80 - 203 µmol/L" 187 203

"Urea (BUN)" 9.8 "5.7 - 13.2 mmol/L" 9.3 9.2
"BUN: Creatinine Ratio" 14

"SDMA more accurately reflects glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in dogs and cats. SDMA increases as early as 25% loss of kidney function,1-2 making SDMA more reliable in both acute or active kidney injury and chronic kidney disease. Creatinine cannot identify kidney issues until almost 75% of kidney function is lost."

So this gives you a good baseline to compare future blood work. That’s where the labs tab on the spreadsheet can help.

Now, I am thinking back, but wasn’t his urine specific gravity a little low? I will look back to the other day. But taken with these kidney labs you have just shared, I would just watch it and be content for the time being!

That email results looks good. Did the vet have any comments on the low urine specific gravity?

I've been meaning to ask, was Eddie put on desmopressin after his hypophysectomy? Reading some of the threads on the acro forum on post hypophysectomy meds, like this one, it seems to be part of the routine. And helps with thirst/peeing.

Yes, Eddie is still on Desmopressin (DDAVP) as is Blue, his brother. Eddie's DDAVP is BiD 0.05mg/AM and 0.025mg/PM. He also takes Thyroxine (0.1mg) BiD and Prednisolone (0.625mg 1x/AM).
Eddie is scheduled to have further urinalysis on Thursday, that is a test for Urine Protein:Creatinine Ratio (UPCR).
As I said, I'll be getting the full missing pages tomorrow but I had asked for information on the SDMA as I had requested it specifically.

When I was reading the other posts on post hypophysectomy meds, sounds like there was some desmopressin dose tweaking going on. One member even bought her own refractometer.

Sorry Eddie has to go back in for another poke for urine. My vet would get enough she could run extra tests if needed. But cat's don't always cooperate with that! It has to be taken by cysto. Neko once went if for a cysto to run another UPCR and as they were getting her ready to poke she flooded the exam table. :p They scooped up some of the expressed liquid and the UPCR was way higher than normal, so kind of a waste. And you've already heard us say trace protein is no reason for a UPCR yet.

Well, I guess the good to come out of this process is to have baseline that has all the current results. But, yeah, poor Eddie for the cysto.

But look at his PMPS tonight: 405. Phew. At least he's stopped drinking so much water.
