Good morning!
AMPS 148 shooting 1.5u

Boomer let me sleep last night; I think he cried once but that was it. He ate all of his +3 plus the extra +3 foods but only about 1/3 of his +6 and 1/3 of his +9. I know a "lack" of food in the last 6 hours of a cycle is supposed to help the insulin to last longer so, when he doesn't eat much of his +6 and +9, I would hope to see a lower AMPS. But I'm not :(

Allen ate well overnight.

It's supposed to get nasty here today. There is supposed to be snow this morning but the temperatures are going up which will cause it to change to freezing rain. Then more snow this afternoon. :p:p I'm ready for spring :bighug: Meanwhile, I'm in the process of booking a one month old "newborn" into the studio for tomorrow.

I haven't been out for a walk in several days so I've resorted to shooting the birds in my backyard which is difficult because my yard isn't very big and as soon as I go out the door they all fly off. But I have a pair of cardinals that will hang out in my yard waiting for me to put peanuts out for them. Here is a shot of the male.

Yay for sleep! Good boy, Boomer! :cat:

I'm with you, Judy, this ellusive AMPS stuff is hard to sort. My most recent over night food regime, which has been in place for some weeks now, is Asia gets most of her food in the first half of the cycle in addition to a +7 meal for safety and a +9 tiny snack for stomach acid reasons. She eats them all up most nights and her AMPS is anything but predictable. We just don't get much of a say for duration, it seems. The good AMPS I do get, I believe are largely from a double dip. I hope something works out eventually for Boomer to get some lower AMPS numbers! :bighug:

Glad you got some sleep and that Boomer and Allen ate well, all in all. Vines for Boomer steady bg’s.
More non-stop rain here; parts of back yard a bit of a mud hole, what with that part never quite recovering from steve’s truck tracks. And parts of the driveway that are grass and clover (intentional) ) have turned into mud soup with bits of grass pave footings buckling up. I see an early spring mud mitigation project in the air.

Love your photo of the cardinal, one of my favorite birds. I am extra happy when cardinals appear at the bird feeder. This winter a black beaked one (teenager?) has been one of the regulars.

Have a good winter’s day. Spring will abound soon!

Here's a quote from Red Cliffs Audubon...
Northern Cardinals are non-migratory and will stay within their home range as long as food and shelter is available, but young male birds, of all species, tend to be wanderers. ... The main reason we do not have Northern Cardinals in Utah is a lack of the habitat they prefer.
