MumBean is very proud of her BOS and in light of his bounce I'm very glad I didn't let his shed start draining - but maybe I should have shot through at his old dose? Very easy to say that after the fact I guess.

Vyktor doing very well throughout all his testing and not complaining too much, I'm feeling very glad this all started in summer for us because it's pretty easy to get blood by just rubbing his ear a little.

He was quite lethargic throughout the afternoon low numbers but nothing to worry about (he spent most of it sleeping in the cupboard and making sure my dresses got an extra layer of fur - I keep telling him vegans don't wear fur but he has his own ideas) and he perked up to give me a little nip with his PMS - go Vyktor.

Going to try this btb business this morning, will be back to lurk in your night and pay some visits.

Wow, y'all have had some excitement over there! Congrats on the dose reduction; I hope all goes well.
One thing I can't figure out, though: what's BOS?

Hey wise ones - I did look at the sticky that suggests stalling the first time you shoot green, but since Serryn had been monitoring so closely over the past few hours I didn't think it was necessary so I didn't mention it. Should I have suggested that she stall?

Obviously she did a great job and everything worked out fine, I am just wondering what the 'right' thing to recommend is for future situations when no one else is around. Not trying to hijack your condo, Serryn, hope this is OK.

Btb did not occur :-| I got lost floating around the board for a while (my how the hours just disappear when I do that!) and by that stage Meg was looking at me with her best, well clearly you're not going to work so why aren't I outside having a run look - how could I resist :smile: Also Linda is correct - the adrenalin is still pumping a bit, I keep finding myself thinking BOS and grinning :mrgreen:

Hijack away Melissa, I'm curious too. I do think in this case I was 'data ready' and obviously in retrospect it was the right thing to do but for future reference I would also like know what is the best advice to give someone else under similar circumstances.

I also think I'm data ready to miss his nadir test today. There's no way he's coming down from where he's at in any hurry so I'm going to take the opportunity to get out and pick up his food order from across town and to do some window shopping while I'm there - usually I can only dash in dash out and hurry home again for a test. I'm hoping I can find a new work skirt or two. The zip fell out of the one I was wearing yesterday so I had to walk around with it safety pinned on, not the most professional of looks :lol:

The first time i shot low...I was strutting round the house saying
'Who has got a steel pair?? Well, that'd be me! Brass Ovaries, Balls of Steel...Yup...joined the BOS Club today..."
and so on :lol: :lol:

Poor Binks just watched me, shaking his head and praying that the neighbors wouldn't see me :lol: :lol:

Data is key.
You were monitoring the bottom half of the previous cycle close enough to see he was on the rise-
You had a recent streak of green (7 cycles earlier) for insight into what may happen following a green streak (a climb to pink in about 1/2 cycles time)
And you were prepared to closely monitor - and guide the numbers if needed. And you were comfortable shooting.
you'll know what to advise when you either see the data or you don't. If in doubt, best to err on the side of safety.

I'll tell you about BKs 1st green PS. . .
We were about 8 months into the dance, had worked up to a 12.5u Lantus dose, with some 12-15u R given in increments throughout the day, as needed.
We had only seen green once, over a month earlier. We didn't know about the IAA yet.

I went across country on business. Before I left I went over all the details w/DBF, who already was helping. Taped detailed R dosing instructions on the cabinet.
Told him to post on the board. Covered all the bases - except one - a green PS.

I was in meetings all day in a building I could not carry a camera into - so no phone.
BKs AMPS was 84. DBF shot it - 12.5u - posted - and went out the door to work. Needless to say there was a whole lot of nail biting in LL that day. By the time I "read" about it, it was history. It ended up being fine - his insulin resistance worked in his favor that day.

Never in a million years did I thing BK would throw a green PS - his ss was always a sea of pink.
Two days later we had an AMPS of 85 - I shot it - had some data to go by :cool:

i saw vyktor and punkin chatting upstairs a little while ago . . . but punkin got on the down escalator - is vyktor coming too?

I confess there might have been a bit of something similar going on around here too, I suspect the look on Vyktor's face was akin to that of Binks. I even rang my mum and messaged a few people to tell them I have BOS, of course they don't really understand the situation but they're happy I'm happy so they congratulate me anyway :lol:

Vyktor coming down :-D half way across town to pick up his food I bet myself that he'd decide to come down since I wasn't going to get his nadir :lol: I tricked him with the +10 though, I'm not getting caught not knowing whats going on before his PMS!

Got a skirt too and a heap of yummy treats for MumBean - pomegranate molasses, koko black chocolate, delicious local fruits and bread, eggplant curry and enough food to last Vyktor a good couple of months. They had to put the order through in two batches because their cash register wouldn't believe that anyone was buying more than 100 tins in one order :lol:

Very happy to hear that Vyktor is clearing the bounce so well. And he gave you a nip (along with all the fur on your clothes) to show his appreciation. Over 100 tins of food at once - wow. :-D
