Hello all, last night I increased by 0.1U to 1.6U. Don't know what we'll get, but I think there's a bit of room for nadirs to drop, and I'd love to see her flatten out a teeeeny bit more so the end/start of cycles drop to green, and she'd been on that dose for 1 1/2 months! Hope you all had a good sleep, and wishing you and your kitties a smooth day of green/blue surfing (or at least a dip in the lagoon!) With love, Nikki

Hi Niki! Good luck with the small increase. I hope that’s all she needs to drop the nadir and overall cycle a bit lower.

I just noticed that your signature says she had IBD until 9 years old. What changed for it to stop?

Thanks :)
Willow had bowel issues since she was a kitten, ranging from almost liquid to sloppy to super soft, but almost never normal. She had been on metronidazole pretty much all her life; tried to wean her off multiple times but no luck.
One week she went off her food...very interested but too nauseous to even try (licking whenever she smelled food). Vet visit showed nothing (bloodwork etc) so they gave her an injection of cerenia for the nausea and home we went... one injection, no tablets. Appetite returned and bowel movements firmed up. Gradually weaned her off metronidazole and that was that.
We called it the miracle drug because it also totally changed her personality. Now we know she must have been in some degree of pain all of her life, but we had always thought she was just the bullying, meanspirited, independent cat out of our four cats. Now she loves attention (whereas before she'd take your hand off if you tried to pat her) and is *much* more tolerant.
She's the last of our pets, and at 17 1/2 years next month, she *is* the miracle cat...we never expected her to reach old age because of her health. But even with the diet changes etc required, we've never had any recurrence of diarrhea as of yet.
With love, Nikki

What a great story ! I am so happy that the cerenia turned her around!!

Thanks! And now we're hoping that zobaline will be another miracle drug for her...we don't ask for much lol. She's been flippering her front left for quite a while, and started on her front right just after we were diagnosed...she's up on her toes a lot of her time on the right already, and Wayne thinks he saw her up on her left for a moment yesterday! We just increased to 1 tab twice daily, fingers crossed....
Bubba looks like he's doing great on that reduction!

Well, Willow just threw a surprise dip at us. Our +6 is 2 pm, which is when I'm usually really comfortable leaving the house for hours because she's on her way up; sometimes there's a little dip at +9, but that's when she gets food in the feeder anyway. Check out the drop from +4! Bugger lol.
Apparently the 0.1U dosechange is having a little kick lol.

ETA her usual nadir is +3 to +4, so maybe it's pushing her nadir a little later to flatten the cycle even more?
