Good morning everyone,

It's a beautiful Tuesday, Casper's BG stayed quite safe last night and he definitely feels a lot better. Been yelling at us this early morning wanted to go out.
He had breakfast at 6; we did the bg check and the AM shot at 9; fed him again after shot with supplements added. The alarm is set at +2 for both AM and PM, and I should have the battery by tomorrow for the caliper. I can do this :bookworm:

Good to hear. Now that I understand how you were feeding him I think he wasn’t getting enough duration by feeding so late in the cycle. Since you are up and giving him breakfast at 6:00 why can’t you give him his insulin at that time?

I don't get up until 7:45  My husband feeds him early in the morning, only if Casper is up for it. He works in early hours, I work at home, my son is doing distance learning and my mom is helping me with the syringe feeding. Normally we do it at 9, so everyone is up.

This is the schedule we have set so far:

6 AM breakfast, which gives him some food in his tummy after a long night (except his night snack) and gives us at least 3 hours no food before shot testing.
8:50 AM test, give AM shot
9:00 AM feed again with supplements
11:00 AM test and feed again with rest of supplements
(adjust feeding schedule depends on Casper's status from this point)
6 PM dinner
8:50 PM test, give PM shot
9:00 PM feed snack and leave food for him in the night
11:00 PM test and feed accordingly depends on his status

Casper is extremely picky and he eats slow. On one side we are eliminating feeding within 2 hours of the shot test, on the other side, we don't want to shovel food down in a short period of time. For us to syringe feed him 6 tbsp of food, normally take 20-25 mins. Once I got up, not only need to get myself ready for the day but I also need to get my son ready for his school, even for distance learning. I do need some solid time to rest  If I could get 5 hours of sleep a day, I am lucky.

That looks like a good plan if Casper cooperates. You have a lot going on and are doing great! I hope he soon starts eating on his own without the need to syringe. :bighug:

He’s cleared the bounce. He might continue to slide so I would grab a test at+11 so you know if he’s on the way up at shot time. .

I would like to suggest that you tweak his feeding schedule. He’s eating breakfast and dinner at the end of the cycle. Can you feed him then, but make that a small meal and feed breakfast and dinner at shot time? That will help with duration going forward.
