Butters & Lyla

Member Since 2020
Yesterday overnight, sleep for me:smuggrin:.

Butters’ vet called yesterday as he finally received the results of her echo and labs from the cardiologist visit. He was thrilled to see that her DM is so tightly regulated. He kept telling me what an amazing job I’ve been doing. It was so nice to hear that. So I’m sharing that because it is a group effort and that praise is for all of you, too.:bighug: I’m so grateful for you.

I’m taking an animal reiki course today. Butters is really liking it.

Have a good day, all.

You and Butters have done all the hard work and it’s paying off. I’m so relieved you have a vet that cares and is supportive. Looks like you got a whole 4-5 hours sleep last night. I hope that continues as well.

Butters IS doing fantastically FD wise. Hope the rest of her results were positive.

Wow, I didn't know you could do reiki on animals but it makes sense! It would probably be really good for any pain Butters might have as a result of her pancreatitis. I know it does wonders for me when I'm stressed and jetlagged.

So glad you got some kudos from your vet (finally! I know you and many others have had bad vet experiences :()

That’s awesome about the animal reiki. I do energy healing on all my furry babies too :bighug:

Your inactive cat note in your SS made me giggle. Perhaps Jax played for both of them yesterday :p Hope she's feeling okay :bighug:

And yay for a vet recognizing data :woot: congratulations on all the hard work and learning you've put in too :bighug: Butters sure likes to keep things interesting! Hope the rest of the vet report was good too :bighug:

I may be jumping ahead but once you have your animal reiki business up and running, a remote session is in order for my kitties :cat::cat:

You have indeed been doing an amazing job! I wonder if he realizes just how amazing, and how dedicated to Butters you've been.

I just sometimes wonder if our vets understand the extent of the effort involved. Because if they did I think they'd have to make sure you have a trauma councelling session when they deliver the diabetes diagnosis. Welcome to your new life. The casual instructions I got made me think that vets don't realize how intense this. Or otherwise they may just be trying to soften the blow ;)

Very well done! And good luck with reiki practice.

Animal reiki course??? I'm intrigued! Tell me mooooore.

So glad you got some well deserved rest, Lyla! Butters glucose is looking soooooo good, it's so wonderful to see :)

Butters is looking amazing because of all your hard work and sleepiness
nights . Looks like he doing very well on the reduction. I'm glad Butters is enjoying the reiki . Give her kisses for me. ♥:bighug::bighug::cat:

I wasn't expecting a low PMPS:confused:. I guess that 2u depot must still be in play.

That whole 4-5 hours was the most I've had in weeks. It was amazing!
I am so happy and relieved to have this vet for Butters, too. It is a huge weight off and I wish everyone could find someone like him for their kitty. @Tomlin found him for me. I'm so glad I followed through on calling him.

I am Certified in Animal Reiki also a Reiki Master Amethyst loves the energy work JoJo not so much:D:D:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Wow, Pamela! Very cool. I have been working on my Level 2 for the past couple of months and now doing the Animal Reiki. That's very interesting about Amethyst and JoJo's different reactions to the reiki.

The vet is concerned about the Dilated Cardiomyopathy diagnosis, but it is what it is. Hoping it resolves with extra taurine I'm giving her now. Her kidney values have been pretty much the same since October now, which is good.
I'm hoping reiki will help Butters with any pain she has. Although the thing about reiki is, all I can do is offer it to her. Whether she wants it and how she wants to use it is up to her. I will do it with the intention to help her pancreas and tummy, though:).

I hope all of my bad vet experiences are behind me now. That's amazing that you do that for your furry babies. I hope they like it!

It looks like another inactive cat note will be going into my ss tonight, so I hope Jax's playing from yesterday can count as Butters' playing for today as well. In fact, he played so hard yesterday I think I might tick off Butters' playing P for an entire week, too:p.
Yes, the vet loves the data.
Lol. Well...I learned distance reiki a few weeks ago. I have another animal reiki course to take in May and I need to practice between now and then. Maybe I can try to practice on your kitties:cat::cat:.

Interesting. I thought the great thing about reiki is you don’t have to “believe.” I just lie there and receive its benefits. I have no idea how it works, I only know it does. I’m sure Butters the throw pillow also makes a wonderful passive receiver of your healing. :p In any case I know it can only help.

Yes, totally. You can just lie there and receive its benefits and someone can send you reiki from anywhere, too. Reiki is just energy. And energy is everywhere. Butters the throw pillow seems to really like reiki, which is great! She must be getting something out of it.

I really think this particular vet understands what hard work and effort goes into managing DM. None of the other ones I've had do. They've really oversimplified it but I'm not sure whether it's from a lack of understanding or if they're trying to make it easier on the caregiver than it actually is.

Unfortunately I think they don’t fully understand FD. When Max was diagnosed I left him at my vet for the day when they gave him his first shot. My vet left early and turned him over to another. She told me no big deal if you need to shoot early. Before they had a tech stay there at night on weekends they would shoot when they got in in the morning and then at 3 before they left if they had a diabetic boarded! :banghead:

That's crazy. I can't believe they thought it was okay to do that. Mind you, the vet who diagnosed Butters had me give her her very first shot in his office at 1pm, and then he told me it was fine to give her her evening shot around 6pm if I wanted to! So yep, clearly not a full understanding of FD.

50 @+4.5. Oh dear. I guess Butters has decided that I've had enough sleep.
This is only cycle four of 1.75u. The old 2u depot could still be in play I think.
It was probably my fault for not giving her food at +3.5. But I can't give her food every hour. She ate at +2.5.

I hope you're right. I don't want a week of her surfing the 50s. But this cycle seems too soon for trying to earn one.
Still 50 now @+5. I gave more syrup this time but feel like 30 minutes was just wasted. The two hour no-food countdown starts over:banghead:.

She exhausts me:rolleyes:!
67 @+5.5. Hopefully she surfs now. I'm setting up the auto feeder and will try to nap in between tests.
