Hello all. I was referred here from TheCatSite. I have two long haired, what I think are mixed Maine coon sisters, age 10.5; one which was just diagnosed as diabetic. This is all brand new territory for me. Tried to start insulin Tuesday, but she either had a reaction or developed a UTI or similar type infection, so babying her back to health without additional insulin for now. She’s also on a lower carb diet now, as prior to two weeks ago, I had no idea how terrible most dry foods are for our kitties.
I’m look forward to learning a lot, figuring out what’s the best approach for her, and the support of a great community.
