It's been a while since I posted, I've been busy with my new job and haven't had much time. Wanted to update on Thomas' health as some things have changed the last couple of months. Thankfully his BG is still in normal range, I test him once a month nowadays. Still in remission.
A couple months back he started trying to pee all over the house which to me indicated a UTI or kidney stones. I got a urine sample and they confirmed that he did in fact have a UTI and some crystals as well. It also indicated that there wasn't any sugar in his urine anymore and confirmed his remission for themselves finally. They even asked if I could tell them what I fed him and such. He got a shot instead of oral medicine as I wanted him to feel better as soon as possible.
Unfortunately when we came home from the vet we noticed swelling on his ear nub that wasn't there before we left. No idea if they rubbed it or if he rubbed it on something to injure himself. We took him to the vet again after a month when the swelling never went away and also had a lump on his neck checked out but they said they couldn't find it and didn't notice any swelling. They thought maybe an allergic reaction but I disagreed. Thankfully they didn't make us pay for them doing absolutely nothing. We got home and noticed on the other side of his ear nub a little bruise. I guess they were rubbing his ear pretty hard.
I waited another month and it looked like there was a small growth on his ear nub. I scheduled an appointment with an oncologist 3 hours away and we're going there today. What sucks the most about the vets now is they don't let us go inside and show them the problem ourselves. I'm paying $178 for a consultation I can't even go in with Thomas for. I hope it's not cancer again, all I really want are answers of what's going on.
I hope everyone and their sugar kitties are doing well today.

Doctor thinks due to his history there's a good possibility of cancer with the abnormal tissue he examined. He thinks there's a good outlook with surgery to remove all that tissue and get a biopsy. He's gonna speak with the main oncologist about a cream used on small legions. We may try it for a month and see if it improves. If not we'll just proceed with the surgery. He was gonna get a senior screening and blood work as well today. Like x-rays and an abdominal ultrasound. Unfortunately he fought them even with sedation so they couldn't get any images. Basically wasted 2 hours, upset Thomas more, and got charged for sedation unfortunately. An 11 hour trip today, tiring for all of us. He seems like he's doing well being back at home, a little loopy still.

Thanks, everyone for the support. We're gonna get a prescription for the Aldara cream soon. After his appointment last week there was swelling on the other side of his ear nub where they were examining it that hasn't gone down after week which leads me to believe it may be trauma-induced. I think it may be scar tissue like a keloid or something, hoping to discuss this with the vet to get his opinion.

Hi Brittany, I remember you and Thomas J well.
I hope it's not cancer if it is I hope the surgery will go well and they get it all.
You and Thomas J had a really exhausting day an 11 hour trip.
Poor Kitty ,I'm sure you are all exhausted. I pray that it's not cancer at all.
