02/04 Felix BG update and dose help

Hello,
I just wanted to update on Felix after his reduction on 02/01 and find out your thoughts about the way his numbers went! He was on all colours except green and black! Yesterday he bounce from blue straight to red . Today he started on pink and went to yellow. We are 2 hours away from pmps. What do you think I should do? Tomorrow we have vet appointment for his throat problem. At the moment those growths are not swollen anymore but the plan is to give him anesthesia and take a sample from those! So I expect another bounce in BG tomorrow because of stress.

Sorry, I’m late to the question! I’m thinking you could increase back up on your next dose, assuming you’re not fasting Felix before tomorrow’s appointment. It’s been 8 cycles since the reduction and it doesn’t seem to be holding. Sorry his numbers have gone up, hopefully he comes back down gently.

Sorry, I’m late to the question! I’m thinking you could increase back up on your next dose, assuming you’re not fasting Felix before tomorrow’s appointment. It’s been 8 cycles since the reduction and it doesn’t seem to be holding. Sorry his numbers have gone up, hopefully he comes back down gently.

Thank you. He will eat at morning shot time (7 am) and 3 hours after (10am) but he won't until 2-3 pm.

If he's getting anesthesia tomorrow, he likely shouldn't get anything more than a half dose tomorrow morning. Did the vet say anything about food timing before the appointment? I've had a kitty get throat samples and it was just done with local anesthetic, not a general.

In general regarding his dose, it looks like the reduction down to 1.0 units did not work. After a reduction is earned, we wait for the bounce to clear and if he doesn't see green after that, the reduction has failed and you go back up. But I'd wait until after his procedure tomorrow before increasing.

Vet didn't say much on the phone. But Felix will be feed at list twice before appointment. I didn't ask what kind of anesthesia will be and she didn't tell me. If I give him .75 insulin, would that be OK? I will have food and hipo kit with me in the car, just in case.
