02/04 Casper AMPS 172, +2 497, +6 HI, PMPS 576, +3 HI, +6 461

He’s hitting blue and then bouncing. I would give him at least 10 cycles on .50 now that his nadir are under 200. We can reevaluate after 10 cycles.

I did 0.5 this morning...surprised how he went from 172 to 497...we been giving him high protein, grain-free food. I also checked every single one of them, making sure there is no form of any potato, pea, starch. Will test him again at +6. Other than that, he is eating and drinking well.

You can give him .75 but he may drop low when he clears the bounce. I was going to wait 2 cycles because he’s bouncing when in the 100’s.

Yeah, I told him Casper has 100s with 0.5U, however those were measured with human meter, he doesn't think the data is accurate. So I gave him 0.75 tonight to avoid any complications. Will monitor him closely in the next 3 days, as soon as I see a 100s, we are reducing.
I am also going to limit his food choices to FF natural and Purina Beyond grain free only. No more Nutro pates.

The pet meters read higher. I bet your vet has never used one. They are reliable. :banghead: My vet hadn’t used a human meter but when I got it I brought it to his office to try it out and he was fine with it. He’s a diplomat in internal medicine but was willing to try new things. Not big headed at all. A rare breed. When he retires I am going to be in big trouble.

So hard to find a good vet now. Especially the ones knowing more about diabetes. I hope your vet has some good disciples at his clinic.
I just tested Casper at +3, it's HI. Thought it would be lower, maybe food bump?
Also, the human meter takes more blood, I always need to poke him at least 2 times to get it to read...

I think he’s still bouncing. I hope the increase helps. How’s he feeling.? Appetite good?

I would not use any of the other vets at my vet’s office. One neatly killed Max. Another missed cancer in my first cat and thought it was great when Max was barely eating but gaining weight. It was because he had CHF.

I don't blame you! You have an amazing vet, stays with him.

Casper had 2/3 can of FF himself at 6, we syringe fed him the rest with evening portion of supplements at 8:30. Normally he eats another ff chicken fillet by himself throughout the night, I think his appetite is pretty well. Plan to test him again at +6.

That all sounds good except the darn bg. I hope he doesn’t fall fast when the bounce clears. Watch out for that.

I know, except his high BG, I almost got my baby back as he used to be. I will be up until 1 tonight to get his +6. Depends on the number, I will set the alarm accordingly.
