WCR: Fantastic, loving and unpredictable. Tuffy is almost 8 months OTJ. I’m still a confirmed testaholic. I’ve seen OTJ’s come and go and since Tuffy is used to the routine of testing, I still test daily. Recently, I’ve gotten a few high numbers. She always bring herself down. Usually the numbers are high in the am and pm while she is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the ”left behind kitties”. I am not supporting the numbers because she comes down, and Tuffy can drop to very low numbers. Just interested in thoughts anyone has regarding her numbers. Tuffy never promised to make life easy but she is loved for her independence and individuality and efforts to keep bean on her toes.

I'd insert a laughing smilie if I could, at that question mark after the 8 months. I think some of know to the minute how long we've been OTJ! :)

I can't comment on her swings, but she had big swings when she was ON insulin. Not that many of us know what a non-diabetic's numbers are. Maybe this is just what they look like.

Congrats, Barbara. And Tuffy, congrats on your excellent choice in selecting a bean! :)

:-D She is OTJ.. your a good bean.. I see a blue & do back on the juice.. you see normal #s & are celebrating 8 months ;-)
Congratulations!! Very happy for you both! What we want to see is a good pattern.. you may see a higher # but you want to see Tuffy bring the #s down & Tuffy is ;-)

Barb, Only 2 days, why not wait a week & see what happens! Tuffy is so well taken care of, not to worry--Female cat diving champ still retains her title!! :)

Thanks ladies for visiting and commenting on the Tuffmeister. I have no intentions of shooting yet. Just trying to figure out the crazy numbers. If I shot the am or pm number she would probably surf the 20s. She always has and I guess always will "do her thing". But, that said, I love her dearly even if she does nip me and take over my yoga mat.

I think what you're seeing is a stress response. Independent Tuffy wants no one who she doesn't approve of on her turf. Interlopers cause her stress and her BG numbers go up. The stress is short lived and the numbers go back down.
