02/03 Tansi PMBG 94

FIP came up when I was getting my hair done today. She has a client with a kitten who has it. She said FIP Warriors think the reason it’s not being approved is because the medication would cure Covid and it’s all about money. Is that what you have been told?
So glad to see your condo. Continued prayers for Tansi. Her celebration will be doubly sweet!

Thanks for kind wishes, always appreciated. I haven't been told anything like that by the warriors. In my own research I believe that the treatment is basically the human medication remdisiver but for cats. Remdisiver is sometimes used for seriously ill covid patients but it's a last resort because it doesn't work for everyone. It's much much more effective against fip, which is also a coronavirus.
My understanding is that it is not available for veterinary use because there have not been sufficient studies yet for it's approval, but trials are ongoing.
That's my take on it anyhow.
But I don't put anything past those big pharmaceutical companies haha
Hope you are very well ❤

Thanks for answering me. My hairdresser is an anti vaccine person and I suspect so is her friend so was very curious. I was skeptical also because the veterinarian who did the original study is highly respected. She knows I disagree with her but am open to all arguments pro and con so will let he4 know. :bighug: I’m good thanks and hope you are as well.

So glad to hear about Tansi! One more week! How great is that.

Remdesivir is indeed a last resort as, in humans, it has been shown to cause serious and even fatal kidney and liver damage.
