01/31/2021 Casper AMPS 499, +3 382, +6 588+9 641

Work that juice, Casper! How is he feeling today?
He actually got his vocal back since last night, complained about the BG checkings, the insulin shots, put his nose in the air when offered him diet food... Other than the AMPS number is quite high, we haven't seen any green number yet, he has been doing great.
Oh, we are not sure if he has been pooping yet, gave him 1 teaspoon probiotic as instructed yesterday, no result. He wasn't happy that follow him to the litterbox every single time. I am thinking about giving him some Miralax powder? Your thoughts?

I'm glad he is doing great! You got a nice blue the other day, which is good. It is possible he could've gone lower than that 232 @+3 last night and might be bouncing this morning.

I have used Miralax for Butters on occasion with good results. I've given her 1/16 tsp twice a day after she got out of the hospital and wasn't pooping. Occasionally, if she hasn't pooped in a while I'll give her 1/16 tsp as a one-time dose and that is enough to get her trains running on time again.

I believe @JaxBenji uses it regularly for Jax (Jax's spreadsheet says 3/16 tsp twice a day) and Elise used it for Max.

Okay, this is getting frustrating, +6 reads 588 on Alphatrak. I also ran the human meter, which reads 388...can't be this much difference.
I am afraid his BG goes high on the roof again like before, but we've been keeping him on the medication, the only difference he has had today is his B12 injection (0.25 ML).

I do use it regularly for Jax - pumpkin didn't do a thing for his poops (they were hard and dry) and miralax has really helped. I have a 1/8th teaspoon and he gets 1.5 of those twice a day (hence the weird 3/16th measuring :p). You just have to find the magic dose for your kitty and go by what the litterbox tells you. You do need to add extra water...to offset it - 1/8th teaspoon of miralax needs 2 teaspoons water. Also, I just bought the store brand version rather than name brand (Walgreens here). There's info on https://felineconstipation.org/prevention.html

My only advice here is high is high and there is no conversion between human and pet meters. Hide that alphatrak (or keep it for a curve for your vet every so often). Just trust one meter and don't look back. Pretty sure everyone that switches from a pet meter has to drive themselves insane first :p (I know I did :joyful::joyful:)

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Thanks for the advice on Miralax. Just gave him 1/16 teaspoon mixed with 0.5 tablespoon (1.5 teaspoons) water...

Sure I am living that episode right now! 588 sounds awful high!
I plan to make the official switch from tomorrow, a new week, a new month. I just didn't expect his +6 to be almost 600 on the pet meter, which normally stays at his lowest. The last time he has this type of bounce, within a day or two, we had to run him to the ER again which I really pray is not the case.

I have used Miralax. Start with 1/8 teaspoon twice a day. I used to mix it in Gerbers baby food which Max loved so I was sure he got it. Get the 100% meat. It comes in Turkey, beef, chicken, and ham. I also added a teaspoon of pumpkin to his food. I hope his bg comes down by morning.
