pretty darned exciting here in Sam's condo!

i saw your post in weezer's condo - weezer and punkin both have acromegaly. they are diabetic because of a tumor in their pituitary gland that puts out hormones that keep their own insulin from being able to get into their cells. one treatment is simply giving higher and higher doses of insulin to keep the cats in healthy-as-possible BG numbers. that's why they get more than the usual doses.

weezer also has some insulin resistance, which means her body is producing antibodies against the insulin. more insulin and patience is the cure for that too.

i'll be watching for sam's OTJ trial - it must be coming soon.
