AMPS 142 shooting 2.5F

Boomer ate most of his overnight food, leaving about 1 tsp. He ate all by himself last night, not calling me to stir his food.

Boomer is spending some time every day playing! Playing is something he's never really done and I'm not sure why he is now but it's wonderful to see and to know that he is feeling good! He also likes to cuddle up to his "Nanner" that he got for Christmas and he likes using this wee buffalo-plaid pillow that I made him a couple of weeks ago when I was making some newborn pillows:smuggrin: Will try to get a picture!

I haven't been out in a couple of days thanks to this nasty blustery cold weather:( This afternoon, however, I have a hair appt so I guess I'll have to brave the cold.

Today's photo was taken in my backyard last spring when some Grey Catbirds decided to hang out for a few days. If you've never heard a Catbird....they actually do sound like cats. They drove Boomer and Allen nuts last spring:smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:

Great that the Boomer is playing again! Go Boomer!

I know what you mean about playing. We were led to believe that Gus, age 10, was quiet and placid and slept all the time. Ha! He loves to play and can go for 1/2 hour of pouncing on wand toys or intercepting balls. Then he takes a break and rolls on catnip toys.

Catbirds are neat. We used to have them at our feeders in Brooklyn. They and the Mockingbirds had quite a chorus of sounds.

Keep warm. It's +7 degrees F. here this morning, but the sun is out and it is beautiful. Temperature is supposed to drop all day. Our Ice Carnival begins on Friday. I hope it warms up a bit for the Saturday activities (curling expo; woodsman's competition; ladies' frying pan toss; miniature golf on an ice course, etc. The Ice Palace looks great this year. Last year the ice on the lake was thin and the blocks for building the palace were only about half of what they are this year. The theme is Prehistoric Park.

Isn't it wonderful to see them playful!? Bubba isn't much of a player either. But be a mouse......... He's a realist, LOL

Love the cat bird photo. And yes, they really do sound like a cat meowing.
 
I swear these cats communicate! I read several people say their cats were playing this morning. So was Ravan & his sister Peggy Sue.Since Ravan got diabetes I kinda forgot about "Playing"
From today on I will play with them every day! It's good for me to have fun also! I think it lifts their spirits & mine also :joyful:
