Have you tried Hills A/D canned food? You get it from the vet. Cats like the taste and it is also easy to syringe feed.
It is a recovery food.

Thank you for the suggestions and well wishes. I will look into the food, but honestly yesterday i thought he might turn around, and today he looks like he is on his way out. I am not quite sure what next steps to take right now

Thank you all, you are really very kind. I dont know if im fooling myself but i still think he may have a turn around? Hes done it before. But i guess im also being practical since he is 17.5 with three cronic conditions ( that i know of). I appreciate the well wishes and compassion from you all. <3

Today is actually better than yesterday. Yesterday he was hiding curled up and today he had some purrs and a tiny bit of nibbling.
