lando still refuses to eat. I am exclusively syringe feeding him.
I upped the ondestaron to 2xs a day. Wondering when i should give up on it?

Can this just be unrelated to nausea? He has kidney disease also

Ondansetron needs to be given at least every 12 hours or even 8 hours. Does he eat at all after about 30-45 minutes? Is he getting any pain medication? Bupe? Have you tried sub-q fluids? How’s he acting otherwise? Purring? Wanting to be with you or hiding? I am a little concerned something else is causing his inappetence too. He’s only stage 2-3 ckd right?

Lando was diagnosed stage 2/3 ckd n october BEFORE i changed his diet to low phos

Lando hasnt been himself since the diagnosis really. There have been a month here or there where he initiates cuddling. Other than that he seems worn out and slow, but appreciates when i hold him. He has a morning and afternoon holding/ purring routine.

He is not on pain meds. Yesterday he nibbled after ondesteron dose, today not.

One last thing. He had MANY issues 10 years ago resulting with removal of his anal glands. I am guessing this is all related to that.

Regardless, with his extreme stress in going to the vet, i weigh the need for it ( especially since the last two visits didnt produce much change.

Thanks for all the input. I guess i need to accept that sometimes the answer is that lando is a 17.5 yr old cat with three cronic issues.
