Yesterday overnight Butters' nadir was 52 @+3.5. Such an early nadir for a late nadir cat:confused:. She dropped to 54 @+7.5 so I had to do another two hours of tests. Let me tell you how awesome I'm feeling (or pretending to feel) after two nights in a row of these same shenanigans:woot::coffee:.

Tomorrow is Butters' cardiologist appointment for her echo. She has to be there @+2.75 in the morning and I have to wait outside in my car. I'm stressing out over what if her numbers are low. My plan is to test her in the parking lot @+2.5 and give her a syrup laden snack if she is below 90, I think. Otherwise, I'll just feed her a regular LC snack. I really hope she will eat in the car. I don't know if she will be too stressed out.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan? I don't know how long the appointment will take.

They won't check her BG but I bet I can send her in with food especially if she won't eat in the car. I don't know if she will eat in the hospital either, but at least it gives me another option other than just giving her syrupy food if she doesn't really need it.

lol Molly is hilarious. And yeah it does suck. She will probably be stressed without me there. perfect timing for a BP check:rolleyes:.
 
Oh dear, that sounds like a very difficult situation. I delayed a vet visit with Buddy for this very reason. He gets so stressed in the car I knew it would be impossible to test or feed in there.

Her numbers have been so good I'm sure you don't want to alter the dose tomorrow. But wonder if that's an option at all? Or do you think it will completely derail her progress?

Hopefully the stress will just naturally push the numbers up anyway.
 
I hope the appointment goes well for Butters! :bighug: Does she have a food/LC treat that’s her absolute favorite? Maybe she’d be happy to eat it no matter the location.
 
Hey Lyla, I hope call goes well tomorrow and Butters doesn't get that stressed
out in the car. I hope she will eat her fav snack for you in the car if needed.
It does syck that we can't go in with them. We just sit outside and worry.

Thank you so much for the ideas!:bighug: I'm going to pack a tiny bag with all of her fave foods and treats...just in case. Maybe it's only in the event that her +2.5 is lower than AMPS. Otherwise, I think she'll be fine as Elise is thinking it's only for an hourlong appointment. I'll send stuff in with her just in case.

I hope it goes well tomorrow and her BG is in a good place. You don’t need any extra stress!
