? 01/20 MISSY AMPS 405, +3 309, +6 295, +9 277, PMPS 264, +1 315, +2.25 291, +4 241

Definitely a bounce day. Get at the most 1 mid-cycle test - preferable later in the day. Catch-up on sleep. Save some pokes and strips. :-)

Missy had a good day today bouncing around.. she was happy, ate well, slept well. At PMPS she is 264. Any thoughts on what we may be in for tonight and how often I should be testing her? Thanks for your help and advice :)

Looks like a bounce. I don’t think you need to worry about a late night but since the +2 is lower if get a +4 and unless a big drop stop until amps.

Tammy, rather than stay up for a +4, I would get a test later in the cycle, like a +10 or so. In the event that Missy clears the bounce this cycle, you will get some time to be "prepared" for a lower AMPS. So go to sleep and get a +10.

I will be getting more rest tonight. Now that I have experienced a what a low night is like I understand the importance of getting sleep.

Based on her numbers do you still think its safe to get a later cycle test?

So her +4 is 241

RECAP
PMPS 264
+1 315
+2 291
+4 241

She is not going to go to unsafe numbers. So you needn't worry about that. Sometimes they head lower like they are going to clear the bounce to only go higher at the end of the cycle.

I think you should get some sleep. Tomorrow's AM cycle may be like last night's so you want to be rested and ready.

I actually have a question....
why are cats so erratic like this? She was way more predictable when she wasn’t on insulin. I used to test her 1-2 times a day snd it was usually always the same or relatively close. Now that she’s in insulin she’s all over the place.
How long do most people have to do this with testing and waking in the night to check.

She was predictably high without insulin. With insulin you seem some curves and then there's the bouncing. Her body has become used to higher numbers and will need to be trained to see normal numbers as normal - not so different from us when we first start seeing green! :-) . It takes a few months for them to get used to insulin (it's a hormone not a drug) and get regulated. Just give it time. Which is why you need to pace yourself. Don't test more than you need to. Get sleep when you can. :bighug:
