Jerry had been in a funk for awhile to where his NADIRs had been higher than his preshots. I was worried about him so I reviewed his spreadsheet and discovered that's something he often does before a reduction which is a connection I'm happy to have made and hope will continue to go smoothly for him. It will be a much better reduction to have made that connection and get him down safely rather than having to wait for ugly numbers like the reduction I caught at a 23 reading. It took him awhile to get his numbers back in order after taking the reduction but I think and hope he's evened out.
01/15: AMPS: 113 +6- 108 +10- 92 PMPS 90 +6- 86
01/16:AMPS: 103 +5- 91
Will do extra testing if he gets strange numbers to determine more information. Fortunately they've settled back into the right order and have gotten pretty and green again. He seems to be doing wonderful with his reductions, he's down to .50 units now. Very excited for him, hope he keeps it up, and will be cheering and encouraging him all the way.

Interesting, Sarah!

Sometimes cats can throw inverted curves which can mean too much or too little insulin. We usually ignore it unless it is a cat that is on a tiny drop and about to go OTJ. Jerry's a.m. Cycles look pretty flat to me and I see where he went up at night a few times. I don't think it was enough to really call it an inverted curve and I'm not sure I would have dropped the dose based on that. BUT....

OTOH, he is looking better :mrgreen:

Interesting information thank you! I'm hoping I made the right call on a reduction. He's averaging at least one per month so hopefully I took him in the right direction as I've yet to find a way to bring him down safely without very low reading. He settled into his perfect dose 1.75 September and is now at .50 or .75 if it doesn't work out. Was hoping I could get him figured out at some point in this ordeal but possibly not. Go Jerry and good luck to Sarah so send it my way please! Hopefully he'll behave with support and I won't have to be quite so frustrated.

Thank you for the help and support, I'm definitely telling him to keep it up! He just likes to make me worry but I think that's the fun of being a cat - that and being spoiled. :lol: If he doesn't get away with it on cuteness alone the green and blue numbers exempt him.
