This morning's breakfast meal was the first meal where I think Ivana's appetite has finally come back to normal. She ate most of it in one go, leaving a little bit for Ron. I think our little girl has returned :-)

Hoping she comes down from those stinky pinkies though, don't like the look of them much.
 
Poached chicken for dinner tonight. She wasn't as interested as I expected. I gave her a piece in the loungeroom which she scoffed, but I had to prod her to go to her food bowl in the kitchen. She stared at the chicken pieces for a minute, and then I ended up hand-feeding her about half a dozen pieces which she ate with gusto, then that was it. Not sure what the go is with that, but it's been a hot day today so maybe she just feels yuck from that. I hope that's all it is.
 
Ivana has a nice little blue slide going on at the moment, and I have a feeling I'll be up through the night.

I don't know what's up with her eating at the moment. Tonight at dinner time, and also a couple of hours later, she would only eat from my hand. I even took the chicken pieces out and put them in another bowl incase the smell of the leftover bits of lunch were putting her off. Nup, only from your hand, Mum. This could makes things very tricky...

Also, she hasn't pooped since Monday night. It's now Wednesday night. I'm not tooooo worried because she hasn't been eating much so I guess there's not much to come out, but I will be keeping an eye on her (again). I haven't been able to get her to eat pumpkin or anything other than her old favourite food, and she has been drinking ALOT. I guess that might be the CKD too. It's been really hot today, and will be even hotter tomorrow, so who knows if that's making her feel yuck (tomorrow will be an aircon day). I have Miralax to mix into her food as a preventative, but didn't want to start that til she was eating normally again, and she's not yet. I've been giving her some Laxapet though.
 
Hope her appy returns and it's just the hot weather making her feel off.

I've had the 'I will only eat out of your hand mum scenario' but thats with my dog Jasmin, she's not terribly motivated by food at the best of times but when she is feeling icky she will only eat if I hand feed.

Good news on the better numbers, hope she slides gently, good luck on the getting some sleep.

I hope Ivana's appy has picked up by now. It does seem that they sometimes develop "funny" eating habits...ever since Trix's CKD diagnosis and bouts with p-titis, I have to hold the plate for her for the majority of her feedings. She'll eat a little bit off the plate on the floor by herself, but not nearly enough. I'll pick up that same plate and hold it for her, and she goes to town. I wish I knew what goes on in their fuzzy little heads sometimes.

Anyway...Ivana is still on ABs, right? That could certainly be affecting her appetite, since ABs can upset the tummy. I wonder if she needs something for nausea??

Also, with the Mirilax, I think you're OK to give it to her even if her appy isn't the greatest (someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that!). But, you do need to make sure she gets enough water when using Mirilax. If she is backed up again, of course that could also affect her appy.
 
Oh goodness Amy, that must be tricky for you with having to hold Trixie's plate. I really hope Ivana doesn't make this a new habit, as we're sometimes not home for her meals.

Ivana is off the ABs now - we finished them early due to her appetite disappearing while on them. Her last tablet was Sunday night (it's Thursday morning now). I got up at her mealtime last night to see what she was doing, and she had her head in the feeder so that's good. Maybe it really was just the heat yesterday, who knows.

She is drinking like a champion so I'm not worried about her not getting enough water yet. Yesterday I also put another water bowl in her bathroom where her litter tray is, given that she's there so often peeing and hopefully that will encourage her to keep drinking lots. Will get confirmation on the Miralax on my next thread :)
 
It's going to be an even hotter day today than yesterday so hope you can get out of the heat Tara and Ivana.
It's only just after 9am and its already 31 c here. So I guess it is the same for you just being up the road a bit!
I have the aircon on already.
Hope Ivana starts eating well for you soon. It is always such a worry when they don't eat..
 
It's currently 29c here, and I'm planning to put the aircon on very soon.

Oops I just realised I haven't started a thread for today, better go do that now!
