Basil is doing well, but one of the well-oiled parts of our system is breaking down--in more ways than one! We feed Basil up on a desk. That lets us leave out food for him, and his sister has been unable to get it because she couldn't get up there. Well, yesterday sister Rosie jumped up onto the desk and helped herself. This is a double problem since Rosie has a real weight problem and we try very hard to make sure she doesn't overeat.

To top it off, Basil is getting fussier about his food. Sigh.

Hope everyone else is off to a good day in Lantus Land. I'm off to take a look around.

Nice AMPS for Basil. I know what you mean about other kitties. I have to take tuffy out of the mix since I have 7. If I left food out for her when I was out she probably would not get any of it. Good luck with finding a solution. It is always the "chubby" ones that want more.

Can I let Esse peek into this condo? She's in rebound...or maybe, if I just took off her aluminum cap, she'd get his psychic messages and come on down.

Basil looks great...and yes, it's always difficult when you have a well working system breakdown...you will figure it out, I'm sure...

Sure! But if she and Basil start cooking up trouble again, he's grounded!
PS That's an electrical-aluminum-helmet joke, but a bad one.

Re: 01/13 Basil +5=76

Basil is enjoying a sleep fest today, with little breaks for walking around and making sure all is right with the world. I'd like to try that one day, myself.

I told Esse to look around, but she, in her essential cat self, said "no thanks..."

And yes it was a joke...and yes it was bad. LOL. Electrical stuff is the one thing I never touch - I can usually figure most stuff out and fix it, but electrical stuff scares the wahhhh-hoooozie out of me.

It looks like Basil has been having a pretty steady day.

Wracking my brain to try to figure out how to keep Rosie away from basil's food. Every plan has a flaw. We're thinking maybe putting his nightime food on top of the washing machine. Rosie can't jump up there.

Very nice numbers today! I hope you come up with a solution. I know that Mocha is now locked in with Peter/Devon at night so Twix cant get at food. Luckily around here nobody bothers Tuscany's food on the floor - and all other food is up on (sigh) counter where no way she can jump to. Someone needs to invent a collar with a magnetic code that opens up the food dish just for the cat wearing that collar...

Ha, that has already been invented (for cows :-D ) Our dairy cows all wear a collar with a transponder on it, when she goes to the feeding station the computer reads the number and dispenses her measured amount of grain, if she tries again to get some and it hasn't been long enough (6 hours) it won't give her any.

This system isn't cheap, I suppose a smaller simpler version could be easily made for cats/dogs, should I start taking oders to see how profitable it would be? We can have basic systems for upto 3 cats, and the profi model for 50+ animals
