Yuck. I was hoping she wouldn't bounce for the weekend. Hopefully it will be a one day bounce and I can see what she's doing tomorrow. For those of you who missed it yesterday, I was able to get a single pen from Fruth Pharmacy and use the discount card. I only had to pay $25. I did not activate the card once I printed it out. When I tried to on the web site, it took me right back to the form I just filled out to get the card.

I am going to try and get some more bottled water today. They have some more distribution sites set up and they are supposed to start giving out water at 8AM. I am trying to limit how much water I drink because I don't want to run out for the cats and I don't know how long this situation will last. This is hard for me, as I usually drink a lot of water. Trying not to drink makes me thirsty. ohmygod_smile I'm going btb for a little while before I head out.

I feel so bad for you. The water problem is all over the news - I hope they are able to make it right soon.
Yippee on the $25 pen :-D So happy you found a place to sell you one at a time.
Now, Miss Furball, how about clearing this bounce for your momma, so she can see where your numbers really are :smile:

I'm giving Furball a pokie break this morning since she was so high and I can't wash my hands.

I've been out and about for 2 hours looking for supplies. The shelves are bare. I finally managed to find a package of baby wipes and a package of plastic silverware. No one thinks to look at Staples for plastic silverware, but they sell breakroom supplies. I was able to get another case of water this morning from another distribution center.

Carla, it is hard to believe you still don't have access to water. I am glad you find a little more for now. How is your mom doing with the situation?

Carla, I've been thinking about you. What a horrible situation with the water ~ I hope it gets remedied very soon.
I'm glad you were able to use the discount card. :-D I was able to take advantage of the savings a couple of times with Ripley, but it really depended on the pharmacist if it would be honored.
Stay safe, and give FB some scritches for me.

I was surprised to see blue so early.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the water situation. My Mom is doing okay. Part of her city has a city water system that is not affected so she can take containers to the fire department and get water. She brought me a cooler of water.

Oh my gosh, I was hoping to read that they had fixed the water problem. I'm glad your mom got you some more. How stressful! Every time someone tells me I can't do something, I want to do it to so I hear you on the "don't drink" and being thirsty :roll: :sad:

I'm glad you could use the discount card, and that you're now seeing blue! A ray of sunshine in your day :-D I hope Furball continues to show you some nice blues. Glad Furball truned blue today. Hope they can fix the water problem soon. That must be frustrating as all get out!

Carla, you are doing so well coping in such difficult circumstances. Any word yet on when the water will be safe to consume? I heard an interview with one of the representatives of the company responsible for the rupture of the holding tank and the subsequent contamination of the water supply, and he of course played down the whole catastrophe, saying that the chemicals were "only" used to wash the coal and were not harmful(!). Do they think we all are idiots?

Glad you got your discount card to work.

Hang in there! You are lucky that your mother has access to safe water.

Omigosh Carla, I admire how calm you sound. I'm so glad your mom can get water and bring it to you.

I'm happy to see Miss Furball down to blue too, that has to make your day less stressful.

No word yet on when the water will be safe to use. All I keep hearing is they are testing. I saw part of a press conference with a man from the company responsible for the leak Thursday night and when he didn't like one of the reporter's questions, he just said I'm done and tried to walk away. Whoever was organizing it made him come back. What an idiot. What's worse is I later found out that was the President of the company.

One of the churches where my Mom lives that has their city water, not WV American Water, opened their gym showers to the public. I got to take a shower this afternoon. It felt so good. They also let me fill up a one gallon jug I had in my car.
 
Oh my Carla ...I am so sorry to hear about your water situation. I can only imagine how aweful that us for you. Glad you were able to get a shower and an additional gallon of water....hopefully it will be safe to use very soon!

Hope Furball surfs safely for you especially with all the added stress you must be under right now.

Carla, I'm so sorry to read that your water situation is still on going, with no clear time line of returning to normal. How stressful this would be for so many people to not have access to life's necessity! I can't believe how strong you are through all of this. Good for you! And so happy to hear your mom is ok and you were able to get in a shower and some bottled water. Sounds like this company is in for a lawsuit after things return to normal.
My thoughts are with you and I will be hoping this gets cleared up very quickly!
 
Carla - I've been thinking about you. I hope they get your water back safe soon. I can't even imagine how you are getting along without it. Big huge hugs!!!
