Furball was happy & purry this morning. I hope she'll surf safely today and not bounce for the weekend so I can see what she's doing this weekend.

We are under a state of emergency for our water. A chemical leaked into the water system yesterday from a plant. We can't use the water, except to flush the toilet. Thankfully I have a few bottles of water I can use for the cats to drink. Until you can't wash your hands, you don't realize how many times you wash your hands dealing with a diabetic cat. I hope it doesn't take too long to clean the water system. Everyone panicked and there was a run on the stores. There is no water in the stores. I just hope I can find juice and milk when I get a chance to go to the store. The National Guard is bringing in bottled water for everyone. Hopefully it will be available for pick-up today.

Oh my. How do you wash your dishes and your clothes and take showers? I hope you get your water today. Hugs.

AMPS (not PMPS) looks like a promising day today.
I hope she surfs the blues and greens for you this weekend, so you can see them :)

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 PMPS=151

Wow, Carla,
Wish I could send you some of my bottled water. We always stock up for hurricane season, and then use it through the year. We had no hurricanes, so we have a lot of water. It must be bad if you can't even wash in it. Are you allowed to boil it first?

Very nice number for Furball. I agree with Dyana, it would be nice if you get to be home for her blues and greens this weekend :-D OK, Furball, save some to show your momma when she is home :-D

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

You can't boil the water because it is a chemical. We can't wash dishes or clothes or take a shower. It affects the surrounding areas too, so there's nowhere nearby to go to get anything done either.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

I suppose you don't know how long this is supposed to go on.
Can you pack up the furkids and go to stay with your mother, or something?

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

They don't know how long it will go on. My mom is in the affected area too.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

When the National Guard comes to hand out water, today, ask for extra water for your family (kids/pets).

Hugs.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

I think we'll have to go to a distribution center and pick it up, but I'm planning to ask for extra for my kitties.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Our water situation made the National news. I saw the story was one of the highlights at the beginning of the news as I was leaving for tbp. Thankfully, we have a water cooler at work and the company provides hand sanitizer, since we can't wash our hands. The health department has told daycares, schools and restaurants they have to shut down. The strangest thing I heard was some flights were delayed because pilots could not take showers and union rules require them to take showers before a flight. They are flying in pilots to take those flights.

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O)

Oh my (!!) on the water situation there. I hope things can be rectified soon. Good luck with everything. And I too would ask for extra for your cats etc. What a trying situation for all. I will be thinking of you guys.

It is a very nice start for Furball today. I hope she can surf this, and you come home to a nice blue.

Have a good ay today. I hope all goes well.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Oh no, Carla,
I'm sorry to hear about the water situation.
This must be worrying and stressful.
I hope you'll get enough water for both you and your kitties, and the contamination resolves quickly.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

My boss let me leave work, and then come back, so I could get water from one of the distribution centers. I was able to get a case of 32 bottles and a one gallon jug filled. I'll probably try to get more this weekend if it looks like this will last for a while.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Oh my gosh! How terrible  When I first moved out of my parents and into town, we had a water shut down for 2 days (I can't remember why, if something broke or leaked), but they warned us a few hours ahead of time so we filled the tub and sinks etc first. And it was winter, so we could melt snow to flush the toilets, but it still sucked! And I didn't realize how much we use it till we didn't have it. Even more with a diabetic cat. I'm glad you managed to get a case during work. Paws crossed it is resolved soon!

Furball is looking beautiful in blue today :-D Surf safe little one. Hope your day goes ok today, Carla, despite all the water stress. TGIF! :YMHUG:

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Hi guys .. wow, what a nice start this morning furball! Ugh .. Right before Christmas we had a huge ice storm roll through here and it knocked out power for 80% of the state .. no power = no water .. Stores were out of bottled water, but thankfully we had some plastic milk jugs in the shed waiting to go to the recycling center .. we pulled them out and went and filled them up at the water stations in the stores (after waiting nearly an hour each time) .. I think we made 6 or 7 trips with 16 1 gallon jugs each time over the four day period .. and that was just basically to flush the toilets/wash hands and fill up the humidifiers .. Water is something we use so much and take it for granted so easily ...I hope your water cleans up soon!!

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Seriously? Just when Furball is starting to look so pretty in blue again. I hope y'all can get through this quickly! Just one day without water can be pretty annoying. Does it smell funny? Any snow you could melt? Hang in there and be safe!

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

I haven't noticed a smell with the water. All of our snow has melted. It's supposed to get to the 50s this weekend. I hope it won't last long, but they're not even giving an estimate right now.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151

Oh no on the water. I read about that last night online. I hope they get it fixed soon. Water is one of those things you don't realize how everything you do in a day takes water. Have a great day Carla!

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151 +10.5=150

Woo hoo! She's still blue!

They are saying right now the water situation is indefinite.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151 +10.5=150

Beautiful blue surfing from Furball. I hope she keeps it there. TGIF.

Yikes on the water situation! I wish I could send you some of our rain so you could catch some extra water.

Re: 01/10 Furball +10.25=146 AMPS=151 +10.5=150

I am sorry to hear about the water situation. That is terrible. I am glad that you got some water today.

Furball is having a nice cycle.

It looks like Furball is surfing blue. I hope she has a nice surf tonight.

I was able to get the a single pen at Fruth Pharmacy and the discount card worked. I only had to pay $25. :-D

Thanks everyone for you thoughts and well wishes about the water situation.

Man oh man!!! I think I'd be thirsty all the time just because I couldn't get any water...psychological thing!! I sure hope your water shutdown doesn't last too long. Hard to take a shower with 16 ounce bottles of water!!

Yay on the discount card working!!! I just used mine for the first time, too, a few days ago!!!

Wow on the water situation...not even being able to wash your hands, holy moly. Many prayers that this ends SOON!

Great news on the pen, though, and lovely numbers for Furball!

Hi Carla,
Your water situation has been on the news (NPR) all day. I hope it can be resolved very soon. I heard that there will be a criminal investigation of the company whose holding tank leaked into the river and thus into the water supply of your region. I'm very glad that you were able to get some water today and hope that it will become more and more plentiful as they bring in more supplies. What a horrible situation! Water is our most precious resource and these big drilling and mining and hydrofracking companies treat it as just something free that they can use and abuse in order to make profits for their shareholders.

Thinking of you and your kitties tonight. Furball has nice numbers today.

Hugs, scritches, I wish I could send you some water, too.

Ella & Rusty

I thought about you this morning when I heard on my local news station and then again on the Today show. How terrible. Luckily the National Guard reacted quickly, but how long will they continue to distribute water for all?! I'm so sorry you all are going through this. Sending extra special prayers and vines for clean water ASAP. Furball must understand the stress of the water situation and she's deciding to go subliminal! BLUE! Sleep well, Carla.
