Vyktor woke me with his hungry purry love at 4am, I held off until 5am but then got a BG and fed, and I'm guessing those numbers are one of the reasons beans don't like to feed within 2 hrs of PS!

Recap yesterday:

AMPS: 338 (taken at PM +11 because he was demanding food and I didn't want a food spike number)
+4 : 299
+7 : 292
+10 : 304
PMPS: 358
+4 : 239
+7 : 196 (whoo hoo a nadir under 200 two days in a row :-D )
+11 : 338

His numbers are starting to look more stable now (anti jinx) so I'm feeling pretty good about where we're headed - except that the dreaded dental is coming up!

Wow, that 120 point rise in an hour looks more like something my cat would do.

The not feeding 2 hours before insulin rule is more for lower numbers, I think.
For instance if +10 was 80 and you fed
and he went up to 120 at +12, you would think it was very safe to shoot.
But if that very same +10 was 80 and you did not feed,
and he happened to be going down at that time for some reason and was then 50 at +12
you would think very differently.
Does that make sense?

So what's that bright red about this morning? Poor little mite! I really don't get why Vyktor would throw such a high number at this stage. Lets hope the teeth are the root problem (no pun intended). I'm wondering if LB has teeth trouble too but he's seemed a little brighter today so I didn't make an appointment to see the Vet. (still reeling over the markup on the Lantus). Seems like Vyktor likes to keep you guessing!?

now vyktor - that 454 - let's talk about that. enough with the drama! come down out of the rafters, big boy! ;-)

It looks like that 'food spike' this morning was actually a bounce. I'm hesitant to say anything positive since everytime I do his glucose heads for the sky - even the anti jinx didn't work this morning :twisted: so I'm not saying it but, hypothetically, perhaps this falls into the pattern of 01/07 and, hypothetically some yellow could be seen tonight drinking09 .

Dyana, thanks for your thoughts re feeding, that was the theory I had been working on so its good to know I'm on track.
 
Hmmmm maybe it was an all day food spike from his piggery yesterday, I've just done the tally and he went through 405 grams of food, a bit over 14 ounces, and he's on track to go through about the same today - hungry hungry Vyktor!
 
Hi guys .. isn't it exciting when you start realizing nadirs are coming down? I am sure vyktor will continue to do well .. these higher numbers are just small speedbumps!
