I asked my MIL and she let him outside and he ate grass, even though we have told her not to let george outsideBack over here, NO WAY!!! he has be finding food somewhere, have you tested for KETONES? You can get a kit from your pet store or Walmart, it’s cheap, you need to place the ketone stick under George while he pees, or putting a container where he pees, but it has been clean pee not from the litter, It might be Ketones, nothing to be alarmed with, Ketones go away with food, check in our main menu under Q&A I don’t have the laptop handy I’m using my phone, but nothing to alarm yourself alright? If is not high carbs he’s getting into it might be Ketones it does raise the BGs is common in diabetic cats
@Sienne and Gabby (GA)
Could you help George parents to perhaps figure out why his BG is good and in 2 hour is in the 300’s, please, thank , there are about 3 threads plus the main thread
I do not give dosing advice, wait till the member I tagged can help you with dosing, and most likely answer what I have not been able to, I am sorry I cannot give you a solid solution to what's going on with George's BG, and you re right, I would not increase just yet, you are still not comfortable, with so much variables., George did have a better day with better levels, than yesterday, perhaps he's still bouncing from highs to lows and vs vs, I'll check back before 11:30 tonight, and early tomorrow morning, .I feel really bad I don't have a solid answer for youShould I continue with only one unit or give him an increase of .25?
Edit: im not going to increase it, id rather underdose him than over dose him
Alrighty, ill keep the SS updated. Thank you for your advice regardless!!!I do not give dosing advice, wait till the member I tagged can help you with dosing, and most likely answer what I have not been able to, I am sorry I cannot give you a solid solution to what's going on with George's BG, and you re right, I would not increase just yet, you are still not comfortable, with so much variables., George did have a better day with better levels, than yesterday, perhaps he's still bouncing from highs to lows and vs vs, I'll check back before 11:30 tonight, and early tomorrow morning, .I feel really bad I don't have a solid answer for you
We are crisscrossing threads, let’s stay in #3 , if George was tested and no Ketones are present, then that is not the reason for high BGs if he’s going outside, is there garbage he can get into? Perhaps? You dont Need to test for ketones all the time maybe at least once a month or so?
No im not upset! Im sorry if that came off as rude, that was not my intention. I struggle with communicating and text is much more difficult to interpret! Im sorry!Are you firing me already?I tagged another member because I don’t give dosing advice that’s all, I hope I didn’t upset you, is a pleasure helping you in all other matters that I am capable of
Yep! Got his single unit ready for himGood ready for shot?
Good morning! I had a question. Would I be able to slowly transition his insulin time to 6am/pm instead of 10am/pm? Just because I will be returning to work soon and that time would be more beneficwhen do you go back to work? the day
Got it. Thank you!, yes, you can adjust the time of Charlie's shot, is an easy process, we do it every year for daylight-time change, use the same concept, here is the link, you just figure out when you are going to do it in increments of 15 minutes or 30 minutes
Daylight Savings Time Ends - Nov. 2nd - Adjusting shot time
Hes been very good so far, hes gotten used to his tests and no longer causes a ruckus for themjust reviewed George's SS, he's having a great day with blues! You go George!
George is doing so good, im very proud of him. His follow up is on the 21st and im going to ask for the refills you mentionedWell look st that, finally George is stabilizing, Beautiful blues this morning! I am thrilled, Go George!
Hes about 157 right now. Should I shoot or no?What a beautiful day for George, I am here if you need assistance before shot, remember to test two hour before shot, we'll take it from there if needed, I am impressed with these row of numbers, it looks like Mil has a better understanding now, you should show her the SS, so she can be proud
I shot yesterday at 9:30 and will be shooting today at 9 in those 30 minutes less each day like you mentioned so he could get used to his shot at 6 insteadyou shoot at 10:00 correct? you have plenty of time to decide, but if he stays this good of course, is under 100 under remember that you can make that decision, I had just finished reviewing the SS, George has had an amazing day, hopefully you an make that shot, so he stays stabilized, is best not to miss a shot, or you can always stall the shot, we'll work on it
Got it. Ill feed him after I test him at 9test at 9:00 post it, I'm pretty sure it will be ok to test, then you will test at +2, do not give any food till after PPMPS, or feeding time, we want to get a true reading, and fed low carbsw
