Good morning and happy Friday, friends! I hope your kitties are surfing safely.
Gen's still not getting his shots, for obvious reasons - his Libre actually claimed that he'd dropped to the low 50s this morning, although it was so fast and brief that I'm pretty sure it was a glitch/compression low. The alarm was an effective wakeup call though.
Kind of helpful, since my sleep schedule is a mess.
He was full of snuggles and purrs last night, though it continues to break my heart to watch when he tries to go eat (full of confidence!) and then apparently can't do it. That said, he did eat a tuna churu for me right before bed, and I decided to try leaving out a can of FF flaked tuna pate. I've been avoiding fish, and he seemed to be going off it anyway not too long ago ... but I noticed that a little (just a little) was gone this morning! So I've left out a fresh can, just in case.
Along with a couple of other options.
He really did not want to be syringe fed last night, and was much more balk-y about it than he's been, but he had about 1.5oz of another FF pate that way. It's not enough, and I'm increasingly worried about that. But! The budesonide is on its way, with an estimated delivery tomorrow. I really hope it makes a difference.
I am a little worried that he'll spit it back up though, since he seems so particularly resistant to liquid meds. Does anyone have any tips for helping to keep a liquid med down? Washing down with a syringe of water didn't work for the mirtazapine. (I wish I could get the budesonide into capsules, but I think the quantity of the dosage will make that impractical/impossible.)
I can't really use it right now, but I did get a very sweet surprise in the mail out of nowhere this week ... a couple weeks back, a close friend and I were discussing our cats' various challenges (one of her recent adoptees, only about a year old, has some food sensitivities, so we were able to exchange some general info and tips), and I was telling her about autofeeders for wet food in case that might be helpful for her girls. To my utter surprise, she sneakily went and bought Gen the fancy PetLibro feeder that I couldn't afford! I'm grateful to have such amazing friends, in person and here on the board.
