RIP Marvin

My heart has been shattered as I said goodbye to my sweet boy Marvin today. 14.5 years was not enough time. I definitely lucked out with him being so chill and putting up with ear pokes, insulin shots and cabergoline over the years. We thought we were doing so well with his sugars being regulated, sadly though having Acromegaly comes with the possibility of heart disease and he was in CHF. We did thoracentesis twice to remove the fluid and tried Lasik for a month but it just wasn’t enough. So I chose to release him when he was having a good day instead of being in crisis. We spend the day having extra cuddles and all the forbidden food and treats he wanted. Rip my sweet boy 😿

Thank you to everyone for all of your support and advice, especially Wendy and Suzanne, we wouldn’t have made it this far without you 🥰

Oh my gosh, Kwyn, it hurts my heart to hear this terrible news about your special Marvin. I can totally relate and it brings back so many painful emotions. I know what you mean. My Darcy was doing great with his BG, but the acromegaly destroyed his kidneys and that is what took him. I can also relate to the difficulty in managing heart disease as I went through that with another kitty. I am really sorry for your loss. Marvin sounds like a wonderful cat, and I wish I could have met him. You have my deepest sympathy, Kwyn.

Thank you! I guess heartbreak is the price we pay for loving these special little creatures.

Oh, gosh, I'm so very sorry for your loss of sweet Marvin. Like Suzanne and Darcy, I lost two boys to acromegaly and there's not a day goes by I would be prepared to do it all over again. Heartbreak is the price of such love and care. Sending you all best thoughts and Godspeed to Marvin.

I am so sad to hear this news about Marvin. :bighug::bighug::bighug:. They say sugar kitties are especially close to your heart, but I think acros with all they go through even more so. Neko went into CHF twice, I know too well how that feels. Take care of yourself now in this hard time.
Looking at his spreadsheet, you did such an amazing job with Marvin. I'm sure he knew how well he was loved. cat_wings>o
