Thanks Allie… can you imagine what might have happened if we were still on the 2iu dose and not testing pre shot- which was advice from the vet?So glad you got help when you needed it. And her numbers are looking really good!![]()
Is she eating less than is usual for her?So she’s 281 +3hrs on but she hasn’t eaten for 2 and a half hours…
Oh, and also ... I really am boggled that your vet advised such a high dose for such a small cat. A lot of vets don't have a ton of experience with diabetes (I think of it like this: vets are basically GPs, so they typically have broader, shallower knowledge when it comes to ailments a human might see a specialist for), but even so.Thanks Allie… can you imagine what might have happened if we were still on the 2iu dose and not testing pre shot- which was advice from the vet?
I do honestly think that the advice and info that I’ve gathered from this amazing site may just have saved her life.

Thanks for the reply Allie, she’s eating less than she was pre diagnosis (obviously I guess) but she is eating well. I have to make sure I’m making her eat little bits constantly I guess? Is she eating less than is usual for her?
She seems to be dropping more at night, though it's a bit early to really see patterns. What's her meal schedule like?
(Alas, I have to go to bed, but will check back tomorrow. I hope things go smoothly for her today/tonight!)
Yes but only a small amount… is that ok? Tested again now and she’s 4.7/85..She seems to like these late cycle nadirs! Is she getting food after each test?
Yes. A tsp of food is fine. Food reduces sharp drops in BG and helps flatten out cycles.Yes but only a small amount… is that ok? Tested again now and she’s 4.7/85..
Thanks Bhooma … we gave her the shot at 5.8/104…Yes. A tsp of food is fine. Food reduces sharp drops in BG and helps flatten out cycles.
