We gave a small increase yesterday and now will see how she handles the bump up.
Hoping she’s safe tonight since we have dinner plans 🤞
I will feed a MC dinner.

Still wrestling with her lab results (we did get them all) and increased her T4 meds for her thyroid to 5 mg Methimazole pills 2x daily.

Complicated multi diagnoses with my girl.

Her B12 is still very high without any B12 supplements at this point (stopped giving that mid November). So that’s a concern 🙁

One of her vets feels getting thyroid under control could be an issue despite while Ivy is doing well, has few GI flares, and is not losing weight.
But we know she has dysbiosis (and are taking the steps that we can, without
making her uncomfortable to support her microbiome), and she has diabetes
and hyperthyroidism.

So it’s a lot going on.

*Has anyone dealt with high levels of B12 (cobalamin?)
Folate was in normal range.
(We tested with VDI labs).

She’s been in a good mood and lots of purrs and cuddles. I’ll take it 😻

Best of luck with the increase - and with all that complexity. (Wish I had insight to offer!) What Mary says is spot on - Ivy is a lucky girl to have such a dedicated caretaker! I hope Saturday is good to you, Staci, and that you have a lovely dinner out. ❤️

Hoping she behaves for just a few hours tonight. Yes big bro will watch her (he just may not touch her, or else…..spicy girl)

Sorry about the lab results. That is crazy what happened. Ivy has a lot going on, but you do a great job taking care of her. She is lucky to have you. I hope you enjoy your dinner out. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I can certainly understand the complexity! 😞 So sorry that you've gotta worry about something new. I wish I also had some advice, but I just found out that Xander's B12 was high too (and has never had B12 supplements), so I'd be curious what others say. Thinking of you and your pretty girl! 💜💜💜

Does the vet have any idea what could be causing the elevated B12. If memory serves me right, I believe hyperthyroidism can contribute to elevated B12.

I’m not yet sure we have answers.
One of my vets seems to feel it’s related to dysbiosis.
Will need to see what primary vet has to say (I will have to get a response there, none yet).

She’s got so many diseases, it’s hard to pinpoint the cause.
But will keep trying to dig for answers 😢

Thanks Madeline, I hope we get some answers soon. It’s always nerve wracking with all these tests and more questions that appear 😘
