Γειά σας! Είμαι ο Μικές από την Ελλάδα και διαγνώστηκα με διαβήτη πριν τρεις μήνες. Κάνω kaninsulin με μέτρια αποτελέσματα. Είμαι 4 κιλά και είμαι 7 ετών. Η μαμά μου σκέφτεται μήπως είναι καλύτερα να κάνουμε lantus. Σας ευχαριστώ για την αποδοχή και την στήριξη! Τα φιλιά μου από Ελλάδα!

Beautiful Mikes, actually Canninsulin is a dog insulin, it hits hard and fast in a cat, the best insulins for a cat are Lantus or ProZinc they are a 12 hour insulin and easier on the cat. Kisses for USA!

This is exactly the reason why I am here with you. I 'm a quick learner. I would love to use lantus.

Hello and welcome. Another Greek member @Anna1 who is on Lantus.

My cat was started on Caninsulin too. Both she and I were much happier with the switch to Lantus. I think it's a good idea to switch if your vet is OK with that.

One other thing, the Royal Canin dry food is not a good option for diabetic cats. Ideally you be feeding him low carb wet or raw food. This food list for the UK lists some options also available in Europe: UK Cat Food List. Make sure you are regularly home testing his blood sugars and transition food slowly to low carb, as that can make a big difference in the amount of insulin he needs.
