This is Mia. My beloved 12 year old Burmese. Recently diagnosed after a rapid decline and just started insulin injections after a failed senvelgo trial. Luckily, my wife is a veterinary surgeon so that helps mitigate the nail biting fear I have for my pet

Welcome to FDMB, Mia is gorgeous, not to worry you will not be the first to bit your nails raw, I can say we all have in this Forum, but you are in the right place, Feline diabetes IS manageable,, with home testing, a wet can food diet between 0-10%, the best insulins for diabetic cats are Lantus and ProZinc, a 12 hour insulin and gentle to out fur babies, as your experienced wife knows, so you are way ahead of all of us that began this journey, blind folded, keep posting your concerns. If you need assistance with insulin an dosing advice, let us know, please tell us what insulin is Mia on and what is her dose is she on at the moment

Mia didn't take to Senvelgo - just foamed at the mouth in stress - so she is now on 2 units of prozinc twice daily. However I expect this go to up in a few days as her numbers are in the stratosphere. This is her - unimpressed with her new monitor.

Awww, she’s so sweet. And doesn’t look too thrilled about her Libre (they usually aren’t, but many cats just ignore them)
Is that a Libre 2 you are using?
The Libre 3 is smaller and transmits data to your phone. Are you familiar with the Libre’s?

Mia loos so scared, but in a day or so she won’t even know is there we would like you to create your signature and spreadsheet , I will tag a very knowledgeable member on ProZinc so she can give you dosing advice
