Thanks I couldn’t have done it without u guys !!! I’m a little worried just got home and she at 54!!!! I panicked and gave 1/4 can !! Was I suppost to do that or did I mess up her goin under 50 and getting reduction … what should I do guys !!!?!

Yes, it's fine. Do you have any medium carb food, like something between 10-15% carb? That's what we usually suggest to feed when a cat goes into the 50s. High carb when they drop below 50. Please test Money again in 30 minutes. You can take off the 911. That's usually for true medical emergencies and right now Money is fine. :bighug:
 
Ok I did remove the 911 . I have a can of friskies shredded turkey and cheese but that’s all … not sure if it’s medium or high carbs …? Should I feed her sum or wait the 30mins ? Omggg I swear my heart dropped , sorry for the 911 .

Friskies Savory Shreds Turkey and Cheese is 14% carb! Yeeesss! :) You can give that to her when she's in the 50s. Just a little bit of the gravy, like a teaspoon. You want to keep her hungry in case she continues to drop and you need to feed her more. Do you have honey on hand?

Let me know when you've got her next test.

Omggg don’t know how u guys do it!!?! I have maple syrop …. She gone up to 72 . It’s been 30mins … will she go back down ? Her nadir is in 2hrs ….?

It gets easier once you've gotten the hang of it. Money is in safe territory. Nadirs can move around, especially early in the sugar journey. Ruby's is somewhere between +2 and +5. Since she's only had LC and went up to 72, I would test again in an hour. If she's going back down again into the 50s, I'd give her a bit of MC.

I can't stay up with you but keep your thread title updated with your numbers and I'll tag @Bandit's Mom in case you need help. Is that ok?

If Money continues to go up you can go to bed. Getting rising numbers for two hours after a number in the 50s is a good indication she's not dropping anymore. Just hold off on any more food until you get that next test to make sure the number is not food influenced.

Hahaha good thing my other little cat is like a morning alarm when it comes to breakfast !!! I think I would have slept right pass it !!! Time for morning alarm as well !!! HahHa !!! Can’t wait to install this Libre !!!!

Can u tell me when should I use a medium carb or high carb … obviously I know when she’s low but if u guys could give sum numbers … like between 3-5 is med and under 3 is high carb … something like that ! I will make a poster for fudge with all important info so next time I won’t be sooo freaked out and have all info on hand .

That is what I did. I put it all together in a box, labeled it "Hypo Kit" and it is in my kitchen pantry. I even have a couple of medium carb and high carb cat food cans in there.

Thanks !!! She’s the best <3 !!!! Any tips on what else I should have in hypo kit ? And what is best for hypo …honey , corn syrop and maple ..?
