still need prayers everyone, not any better this am, won’t eat and he has runny poo (no blood) fed him 1/4 can ffn, gonna feed more in about 30 min, trying to get at least 200 calories in him a day, will not eat anything on his own, I’m trying to have a positive attitude but it’s REALLY hard. He’s just laying around and that is not Bella! If he doesn’t start eating on his own what do I do when I have to go back to work Monday?????

Here are the tips we give for a cat that's not eating. Maybe something here will help. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Do you have any parmesan cheese? If you maybe sprinkle a little of that on her food, she will perhaps eat? usually ondansetron is better for nausea than cerenia but it doesn't hurt to give her the cerenia....it can help.

Can you finger feed her....either see if she will lick food off your finger or will she let you dab some on the front of her tongue or on the roof of her mouth? Just be careful that it's only a small amount and that you don't get it down her throat.

Here's some info Jill often posts when a kitty won't eat:Here are some things you can do do entice your cat to eat:

-sometimes in order to get a cat to eat you even have to resort to dry it is more important that they eat. there are a couple low carb / grain free brands -- EVO and wellness core.

-making a buffet to give him choices
- heating food

sprinkle food with :
- forta flora -- a probiotic you can get at vets or online. is very smelly and cats love the taste of it.
- parm. cheese
- smashed crumbles of dry food
- Purebites Duck Liver -- crushed and put on as a topper.
- bonito tuna flakes
- halo chicken treats -- crumble into dust over food
- poor a little water from tuna in water over food ( I use low sodium/no sodium added as other kinds in water has veg. broth in it and I assume that means onions, which are toxic to cats-- check labels)
-powdered oregano. yep sounds weird . but some cats like it and it will entice them to eat.

other ideas of foods to offer your kitty to stim appy:
- trader joe tuna for cats
-baby food -- beechnut turkey and broth or chicken and broth. they have no onions or other additives. some babyfoods have onions . please read labels if you can't find beechnut.
- kentucky fried chicken
- deli turkey /chicken
- plain cooked ( boiled or baked ) chicken breast
-canned chicken for people (watch the label that their are no onions)
- chicken broth -- low sodium

Thanks so much Carla, no he will not eat off my finger, he doesn’t like parm cheese, I’ve tried his favorite pure bite chicken and he will occasionally eat a piece normally he would eat the whole bag, I’ve tried like 6 different foods and dry young again, dr elseys chicken, I will try some of the other things on list though.

Sending even more prayers and healing vines, Jamie :bighug: C'mon Bella, you can do this!

When Grem decides not to eat, he likes the Tiki stick treats squirted on his normal food which I usually have to heat slightly. He also loves chicken, usually raw but only if it's super fresh.

I hope you find something he will happily eat soon!

When all else fails, contraband food? I know it's not the best for his BG's, but didn't he like Temptation treats aka Kitty Crack? Sometimes they'll eat those gravy style foods - usually not on the menu due to the carbs...just a thought. If it were Luci, she'd go for a piece of candy or pizza...but I don't think Bella eats hooman food does he...

Hope he feels better, Jamie! Take care.

He won’t eat them Sue:(:(:(:(

I'm so sad to read your update, Jamie. Sending so many prayers that he eats and starts to feel better soon. Come on, Bella, you need to eat:bighug:.

Vet didn’t give me anything!! Bella’s vet wasn’t there yesterday so he saw someone else

Well that sucks. Is your vet on today? Maybe call them and tell them he is no better, he needs stuff.

Bone broth will help soothe the gut. Maybe a small commercial container will help until you get some made. Only thing i didnt like about commercial is there are to msny preservatives and crap in it. Home made is just natural food with all the good stuff like marrow, cartilege, collagen.

I did and I got metronidazole and some AD I’m to call him Monday if he’s not better and see my reg vet

Rotisserie Chicken from Jewel has worked good. Cut it into tiny pieces & only put a little down to see if he'll eat it.

When Raven is a bit nauseous I give him Slippery Elm 1/2 teaspoon in 2 teaspoons of water, in a small shot glass. After I mix it I give it to him right away before it's gets too thick. I use a feeding syringe. He will usually eat within half hour after I give it to him.

I've used 2 drops of CBD oil for over 6 years & it has always worked to get them eating. I use the Original Formula in olive oil. https://www.charlottesweb.com/original-formula-cbd-oil

It's expensive but he only gets 2 drops a day in a teaspoon of fish oil (like sardines) Does Bella like sardines? I get "Safe Catch" no salt Sardines. Maybe once every few weeks. Both Alice & Ravan like i

I’m so sad to hear this and hate that you and Bella are in such distress. I’m sure you’ve thought of this but could you find another vet rather than waiting until Monday? Regarding food, I think the stinkier the better—agree with Sue— go for the contraband food. Thinking of you both and sending positive vibes.

I used chicken neck, back, beef hocks (liked them best cuz they are big), beef bones. I would throw thighs in and use the meat (when cooked) for pot pie, throw bones back in. Just make sure you scoop all the bone out.

Jamie have you tried the Liver Shake?

I found it worked really well for my civie felix. He wasn't eating anything,I was assist feeding a recovery food. But he would lap this up himself, initially off my fingers, but he after the first portion he would just lick it out of the bowl,
after about 36hrs on it seemed to get his appy back.

He only needs 30-60ml a day of it, so not a lot for him to take on, it's suggested he have 10ml 3 to 6 times a day. It's not a long term solution (too much liver), but short term for a sick cat it can work really well. It was a life saver for my boy.

There's a note to use rice water if cat has diarrhea and there is a note on how to do that.
Sending prayers
