Do you think it's the gaba relieving the pain?
Yes I think the reason his numbers have improved (somewhat) is due to the pain relief. Not yet sure if I am going to do a test by taking him off the gaba and seeing if numbers go up, or just keep him on the stuff. It is a super-low dose. Will discuss with the vet at some stage, but when I did see him last week he indicated meds to help with pain are the way to go, as the arthritis is bad and going to get worse.

Poor fella! You know, it's kind of interesting--since we have diabetic cats and since their bg is influenced by pain, we are privy to being flagged for that pain when, otherwise, we might not even know our very stoic cats are suffering. I know this is the case with Jude's FIC because he's often not symptomatic, and the only way I know something is off is because his bg shoots up. Do you think you would have known about Noogi's arthritis pain if you didn't see it in his bg numbers?
