An ok day. Thankfully all blue tonight. Missing our prior green streaks.

New observation: Since arriving at the 7.5 dose where she finally broke the constant yellow and started seeing blue and green, she almost always increases from AMPS to +2, but decreases from PMPS to +2. Prior to 7.5 she would usually decrease from PS to +2 in both cycles. This is a mystery to me.

Normal downward cycle at night followed by slight mini bounce (bouncette) during the day. It wasn't until 7.5 that you started seeing green. She's levelled off more.
Missing our prior green streaks.
Let's see if the nadirs keep creeping up. She may need a tad more insulin if so. Been 5 days all above 80.

You were thinking already within past week that she could benefit from a 0.25 increase. I was getting used to nadirs in 70s and shooting below 100, and feeding her higher carbs b/c I was scared. I wish I had never done those 2 cycles of skinny. It bothers me now that there is more yellow creeping in more. This morning we jumped from PS at 204 to +2 at 248. Sigh.

Should I go ahead and increase tonight? Should the increase be to a 7.5 fat, sliver of light above the 7.5 half mark, or a .25 increase? Sounds like you are thinking we watch nadirs for a few more cycles before increasing.

Do you think I should open new Lantus vial? It’s about 2 months old and has been refrigerated so it should be fine. There is a facebook group for IAA/Acro and I saw a person there say that the purity is better if you use “fresher” insulin. The price of Lantus has come down a lot in past 3-4 months. I get mine at kroger and it was around $80 for a vial back in June. It’s now about $35. So I don’t mind doing new vial more frequently, but if there’s not any legitimate benefit then I don’t want to waste money.

The vial should be fine if kept in the fridge. You can look for floaties and check that it's clear, but we've had people use vials for 5-6 months with no problem. Your mileage will vary on that FB groups suggestions. Long story. I used cartridges (pen refills available in Canada). The nice thing about pens is that if it goes to waste, it's much less insulin. And was easier for me to travel with. I only once had a pen go bad, and that's the one that traveled to Fort Collins with us, a lot of time in 90 degree weather, though we did have it in a cooler and air con in the car. It didn't stop dead, just seemed to fade in ability. I also had many cartridges work until the last drop.

The thing with IAA though, I used to think of it as the IAA army. Every once in a while it would regroup, come up with a new strategy, and attack again. Meaning an increase might be needed. You've been able to hold this dose since Dec 19th, which is amazing. I was thinking 0.25 units increase. But she's heading down now, I'd wait to see how low she goes overnight before increasing. In case it's a bounce breaking cycle.
