Hello

Here is yesterday:

Eddie had his first acupuncture treatment yesterday followed by laser. For one thing, it was both amazing and wonderful to see Eddie fully relaxed with all those tiny needles in him, including his nose. Honestly, he was so zen-like, it relaxed me, as well. He wasn’t even doing his usual growling…

We have another acupuncture booked in two weeks and next week for another laser treatment. To put this all in context: Eddie has eaten dinner last night and breakfast today with no gagging and no tongue twirling.

I’ve called Canada West to reschedule the appointment so as to keep Eddie as unstressed as possible and to give the procedures a chance to work and for him to heal.

Testing has become a bit of an issue. I'm letting him eat without any prior intervention on my part, including testing, so as not to throw him off. He is a sensitive soul as the IM vet says, and he's right. So, what's happening is that he takes his own sweet time about eating and I think I'm getting a test in over the 20 minutes or so before the food kicks in...

Any suggestions?

Great news on the acupuncture. Typically the first needles they put in relax them. After a few sessions Neko mostly just had a few needles to relax and the rest was done with acupuncture lasers. Once she learned how they helped her, she started leaning into the vet during treatment. Eventually she was really eager and tried to get the vet and I to quit chatting and get on with it!

Could you try a Churu feeding session with Churu for test rewards?

At what time in relation to feeding are you giving insulin?

He just went all soft and puffy with his eyes half shut...

Because his eating has been so chaotic and such a challenge, I've been mixing Churu in with actual food; that gets him going. He's still a bit funny about getting right down to a meal.

I'm trying for 20 mins but it sometimes slides into 30.

I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to go to 10u. Is this a reasonable/appropriate thought? He doesn't enjoy food as much--or rather he's less interested in food-- when he's in the high numbers.
We had a bit of food war tonight.

I think you have enough data to increase, though I'd love more night time data. But I'd think of 10 units more of returning closer to his last good dose. You may need to monitor more. Thank goodness for the weekend.
