Up and down we go. Seems the bouncing is getting more frequent, but isn't lasting as long on either end of the spectrum.

His appetite seems to be more on the ravenous end today despite getting food every few hours, even over night. I think he ate so much he vomited twice last night/early this AM. It wasn't a ton and looked a bit like liquid poo. I assume the enzymes are breaking things down in his stomach giving it this appearance. He's using the litter box frequently and some of the stools are kind of soft, but not liquid. They don't have the lighter colored appearance they did yesterday, so hopefully having him eat his food with the enzymes mixed in instead of the pills is responsible. I think he's becoming accustom to the their taste.

How many days has he been on the enzymes now?
Started on Sunday with the ones from the vitamin shoppe, but he's only been on the one's the vet recommended since Wednesday. His appetite is through the roof today. Trying to eat our food, trying to eat the dogs food, and I've been feeding him 1/4 cup like every 2-3 hours. Apparently he doesn't like the Ziwi peak stuff as much once it's mixed with the enzymes, but usually he'll polish it off eventually over a couple hours. The Koha rabbit has been the popular choice since the enzymes started. I'll weigh him in a little bit and see if he's up at all. (I'm kinda scared to tho in case he's down more)

So I just weighed him and he's coming in at 5lbs 9oz, so 3 ounces more than last time! :) Hopefully it isn't just due to his stomach/intestines being stuffed with food. He hasn't had any subQ fluids in a couple days, so that shouldn't be influencing it. Paws crossed this becomes a trend!

H John I'm bro happy to here Henry has put some weight on. I can just picture Henry running around trying to eat your food and the dogs food. Henry you're a little gavone :p. :bighug::bighug::cat:
Hi Diane, thank you for the well wishes. Ha! Another Italian word. I had to look that one up and yes, he certainly is a gavone. I must have put too many enzymes in his last batch of food because he won't have anything to do with it despite the fact he ate a can of the same thing yesterday (although there may have been fewer enzymes ... not sure). Looks like we may be going back to the capsules for the overnight/tomorrow meals.

The enzymes are hard to measure precisely. Did you know that kitchen measuring spoons are wildly inaccurate? I never had a clue until I decided to weigh out 1/4 tsp of the enzymes and noticed it was over 500mg heavier than it should have been. I thought there was something wrong with the enzymes and I knew my scale was accurate since I had a calibration weight. Then I thought, "I wonder how accurate the measuring spoons are?" and after a quick google search everyone who has tested the accuracy says that 1/4tsp is actually closer to 1/3tsp  And this is a common thing among all the various brands! Geesh guys, can we get a little QC?

So I just caved into Henry's demands that "He's hungry and he's not eating this damn enzymed food anymore!". I just checked his ketones and they're up to 0.5  He's been in the high 300s (libre reads 400) for the last 15 hours. So I pilled him with some zymes and gave him some non-laced food. Of course he snarfed it right down, right? Not quite, a few bites and then beg for something else. OK, here's something else. A few more bites and then "Nah, I'm good... I think I'll just drink a bunch of water and lay by the front door" :banghead: So I don't think he's feeling great. Looks like it's time for some subQ fluids.

Yeah, that lying by the front door thing seems to be an indication that he’s not feeling well. ☹️ I hope that is a real weight gain! We will take any ounces at all! I imagine that it is hard to get an exact measurement of a powdered substance with kitchen measuring spoons because it probably depends on how tightly packed the enzymes are in that spoon. A gram scale would be useful here.

Yes, I have an analytical balance that can read down to .1mg with an accuracy of -/+ .3mg so I'll be using that going forward. All of the enzyme quantification is done by weight anyway, so definitely more accurate.

So something is certainly amiss with Henry tonight. He has now pee'd outside his box 3 times. He makes no attempt to hide it from me, infact he comes up and does it right next to me. Even tho I've been faithfully scooping his box, after the first incident I thought, well maybe I should do a full litter change, so I did. After he did it the second time I scolded him and put him in his box, but he wouldn't go. Now he just did it again... right in front of me. This is certainly out of the ordinary for him. The only time he would go outside his box in the past is if he was shut in a room or the car without access to the box. I really hope the subQ fluids I gave him perk him up (and doesn't make him pee all over the place). Sigh. Atleast we have hardwood floors and he doesn't try to hide it. :(

Awww, was so happy to read about Henry's weight gain, now sad to see that he isn't feeling well and is peeing outside the box. Seems by doing it in front of you he's trying to let you know things aren't right. Maybe a UTI if this isn't typical behavior?

Jesus John you two can't catch a break. I'm so sad he's not feeling well. Maybe he does have a UTI. Praying his numbers come down with the R and the ketones also I just looked at your SS :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

poor child he does need a break or 10! Maybe he is peeing in protest of the enzymes or UTI or cystitis. Do you have any pain medicine to see if that helps? Does he strain at all when he pees? Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

I’m worried. How is Henry? I don’t see any entries on your ss for today, July 10. I’m so worried.

Thank you for checking in Suzanne. He's better today. Still running high. Being able to download all his libre data in a SS has been making me a little lazy in filling out his SS every hour so I've only been doing it 3 or 4 times per day unless I take a reading with the Nova. I'm making a new thread now with an update. Sorry for the scare

Some people have a separate tab where it’s a spreadsheet that has been filled in from the libre data.
