2/6 Chloe AMPS 126 reduced to .4

Mornin’

I see the 0.4. Are you trying a shaved dose because of the previous time at 0.25? Did you manage to order some calipers yesterday to help measure?

No, I'm still measuring by eye. She got a bit too low last night. Also, she vomited up all the HC food I gave her. Where do I get calipers?

I don’t use them, but have thought if Cosmo got to 1 unit or under that I would start using them.

Some of the members in the US use these ones:

And then they use a light board or a light app/function on their iPad. I’m not sure if you have an iPad, but some extra light helps from what I hear. I’ll tag someone who uses them to help you figure out how to set the doses on the digital calipers if you decide to go ahead with it. I would, for sure, reach out to someone if you want to use them ahead of trying for the first time. Good for shaved doses and small doses.

I would have been lost without calipers. It’s tge only way I advise fat and skinny doses as the lines on the syringes are often off by a lot.

Someone suggested using the light in the refrigerator and I've been doing that.

I love my calipers! Every dose is consistent. I use the ones Tanya linked and use my MyLight (free app) on my iPad like she said. Any back light helps - just with calipers you'd be paying your syringe down and so a flat surface is good. If you haven't yet, check out the caliper post - I followed those directions and created my own measurements for my brand of syringes. I also use magnifying glasses like these - the magnify 3.5X. I have an eye loupe too (30x) but I really like not having to hold my magnifier. Good luck!

I live near a Harbor Freight store, but they're all out right now. I have no idea how big they are because they didn't say. Maybe I'll just mark the syringes with a Trumpie.

I just took a look at Chloe's spreadsheet.

With cats using Lantus, you do not adjust doses back-to-back. Every time you change a dose, you need to hold the dose for 3 days if you are following TR. Since you are using SLGS as your dosing method, you need to hold the dose for a week.

Frankly, I'm unable to figure out your dosing strategy. At times, your "instincts" tell you to reduce the dose. Now, it appears that you are holding the dose despite Chloe earning a dose reduction. Could you provide some insight into what is guiding your dosing? We'd love to offer help if you'd like input but I wouldn't have a clue what to recommend.
