Butters & Lyla

Very Active Member
Yesterday 5/5 Ps. Last night Butters played by demanding that she be taken outside. I put on her harness and froze my buns off while she sat on the icy porch and sniffed the fresh air. Such fun:rolleyes:!

Surprisingly, she started today below 200:cool:, but looks like she is well on her way back up now: 196 @+2. Such a tease, Butters.

Have a great day, all.

That's awesome and nice start to the day . Have a great day Lyla :cat:

Afternoon Lyla, seeing those 2 blues brought a smile to my face.
Such great news that she wanted to go outside and enjoyed the fresh air
Did your buns defrost yet :p
I hope these numbers continue.
Have a nice day Lyla, kiss her for me ♥:bighug::bighug::cat:

Looking good :bighug:! May not be related at all, but I wonder if the switch to pork is also helping? T did really well on a primarily pork based food when he was in a flare :). I have a friend who’s cat went through many proteins due to issues her cat was having and venison worked well. Maybe another option down the road :D. I am sure it has already been mentioned by someone as a novel protein that is a nice option to try. Just the fact that Butters is open to try different proteins is awesome :p!!!

Nice to see Butters has some low blues in her at this dose.

@Tomlin - we had a great discussion the other day talking about elk, kangaroo, and venison. Our cats eat better than we do. :p I have fed the previous 3 (and wild boar) and even know where I could find ostrich, llama and water buffalo.

@Wendy&Neko

We tried Alligator :woot:and Kangaroo and some other crazy ones last Fall with T. My Chicken Gandhi :pas we like to call him was like “you are all CRAZY if you think I am exploring any of that!!” My holistic store was telling me there is even a local “organ trade” on Facebook or some social media site for people who are making pet food :woot:! There are also some local farms where you go pick your rabbit or protein...OMG.....I have to draw a line :nailbiting:! I get that it is super “fresh” or whatever but no way :nailbiting:. It is like when friends of mine tried to feed me Betsy the cow one Summer picnic:eek:. Once I meet & call an animal by name, I definitely cannot go down that path .

Nice start to the day, hopefully she comes back down! What do the out of 5 Ps mean? I feel like I’ve missed something lol

The Board talks about how cats are more than just their numbers and will ask how the "5 Ps" are: peeing, pooping, purring, preening, and playing. I noticed recently on Gracie's spreadsheets that Marje would track how many Ps she had each day. I think other members would mention how the 5 Ps are in their daily condo. I decided it would be helpful for me to track the Ps for Butters:).

So her numbers stayed high all while I was feeding beef. Looking back now, I see that:facepalm:. I also wonder whether it's related or whether it is just a coincidence. I'm out of beef with no plans to get more. I have some other proteins coming:), including venison:bighug:.

Ah that makes sense, thank you for the explanation! Here I thought it meant Butters played 5/5 times today

I had wondered the same thing, hence my question a few days ago.

@tiffmaxee And I didn't even mention rabbit, goat, camel, buffalo (fed that one regularly), duck. Of course, there is a rule that only the most expensive protein will be what the cat likes! Shelter I was at, there was a small dog that only got relief from allergies on ostrich. Moral of the story, start with the cheaper ones.
